PAL Charts - Week 40, 2014

I think the art and the humour for SO will really help the game carve out its niche. This reminds me of Borderlands again, everyone is saying it will bomb, because it looks different. I can't say I agree.

As ive said before in these threads, id be weary of betting on any Xbox shooter that isnt a big budget military theme selling huge amounts.

SO will sell similarly to crackdown at best.

Hopefully, Fantasy Life can stay in charts long enough...it's already good that it's still around top 20 (22nd) in such a crowded week, new-releases-wise, but it has to be seen if it'll stay next week as well, or if it'll be gone already.

Interesting to see how Alien fares. I don't think it's going to be that big sadly. It's also out on a Tuesday so will have more days to perform.

Also DriveClub will be interesting. What with the PS+ version and PS+ discount, how it will fare at retail. Marketing for the game has also been dreadful, so we'll see what happens.

See, now I know you're making shit up.

Ms have never released sales data for Forza Horizon, so we've no idea what it's total sales are. If you have a link, please provide.

It's a spin off series. Also, it was less bundled than the main series games (which was bundled to hell and back). It is the worst selling Forza.

Of course it means nothing. In isolation. But combined with the charts and other threads for similar expos in other countries it shows an UK market that gives less shit about Nintendo games.

Now I'm curious, what was the huge presence for the families, casuals and children? What's the perfect Christmas gift for that market?

Believe it not, EGX had quite a few children eating up Splatoon. I saw more women in the Nintendo both actually playing games than in the Sony and Microsoft areas (where they tended to be watching their boyfriends or getting LBP selfies)

Im not say at all it is a indication of increased sales, im just saying using EGX as an example of Nintendo not doing well is a bit disingenuous. If crowd sizes there reflected sales, Nintendo actually would be doing much better in the UK than they are.

To further my point, hardly anyone was playing Minecraft at EGX. There was one kid that was playing by himself for at least an hour. That should tell you all you need to know really.

To be honest I'm already lost and I don't know anymore what is your point, but this discussion is quite off topic now, so let's leave it as it is.

People who go to EGX or other gaming conventions are not representative of the wider market. Not in the slightest. Drawing conclusions from queues at conventions is a poor idea.

Interesting to see how Alien fares. I don't think it's going to be that big sadly.

I dunno. It's currently charting higher than GTAV and Driveclub on Amazon's pre-order charts (Even higher than the XBO version of Advanced Warfare)

I think it may do pretty well. People love scary/horror games over here.

Alien should have a pretty good debut in UK. In US? Far less: it's out tomorrow there as well, and it's 34th (PS4) and 82nd (One) on Amazon.com.

Also, Forza Horizon 2 is going down very quickly: it was 20th max at debut, but now it's already 80th, and it's around one week after the release.

WOM not strong enough? :p

Which was my point in regards to EGX being an indication of Nintendos success or Faliure in the uk market. Its not an indication of anything.

You claimed that Nintendos sales was represented by people not talking about EGX, because it showed people dont care. I pointed out that Nintendo actually had a good presence there with lots of engagement and that doesnt serve as an indication of anything saleswise.

Word of mouth will make it sell well.

FIFA 15 splits are courtesy of Metro.co.uk

In its second week on sale the Xbox 360 version of FIFA 15 was the biggest seller on 33 per cent, followed by the PlayStation 4 on 28 per cent. There are of course far more Xbox 360s in the country than there are next gen consoles; and the second week has seen the Xbox One slip into fourth place on 17 per cent, compared to the PlayStation 3’s 21 per cent.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl sold 79,000 units in its debut.

For a more accurate comparison a will upweight Super Smash Bros. Brawl to 95% of the market.

[WII] Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 83,158 / NEW
[3DS] Super Smash Bros. for 3DS - Between 37,696 and 51,487 / NEW
Oh, that puts it in perspective.

And i was about to make a "Smash sells nearly as much as by Bayo2" thread.

looking forward to the driveclub bomba talk next week.

Lets be real here, Driveclub is going to do worse.

The saving grace is every plus member is going to have a copy, so a cheap PS+ upgrade a few months from now will ensure it will at least be profitable.

Its basically the Killer instinct model, but in reverse.

My kids have pretty much transitioned now, key moments were release of PvZ: Garden Warfare and Minecraft.

.

Same here. The PS3 gets turned on les and less. I now have PvZ, Minecraft, Skylanders, Just Dance and soon Disney Infinity for the PS4. LBP3 on the PS4 is a no brainer for my family with kids who grew up on LBP last gen. We also have four controllers on the PS4 now.

Don't get me wrong. I'm pretty sure it'll do worse than FH2 at retail, but yeah, sales will likely skew towards digital more than any current-gen game we've seen before. The PS+ discount in Europe is really good.

I guess Sony will let us know via PR if it does well overall.

Does anyone know the week over week data for Destiny last week (Week 3)? Please PM me.

Knowing the -30% (Week 4) number doesn't help if we don't have Week 3 data.

france with their delicious baguettes and fifa know whats up, damn lol

knew fifa was gonna obfuscate a lot of sales from their competition but still is freaking amazing to see it put in numbers

Chart-Track have increased the Vita top 10 to a top 20. I can't fathom why they've halved the 3DS chart and doubled the Vita chart. Well, apart from the fact that the Vita top 20 is awesome as fuck:

Vita_Top_20.png

If anyone from Chart Track or any mods want me to take this down, just edit my post or PM me. It's not like the Vita chart drives major clicks though.

Most of them are console like games peoples need to stop saying nobody want console like games on vita

Question is how the next PS4 exclusive (Driveclub right?) will stack up against other Multiplats. That should be the real teller.

I think most people will buy digital verson because it is only £34.99 compared to physical copy which is £49.99
