Oh I'm not referencing any game in particular, just commenting on the situation in the UK and why Nintendo has lost so much market share in the region. The "5 year" thing was a random number. Sorry, didn't mean to be cryptic.

Ohhh, no worries then. The Xenoblade Chronicles N3DS was almost bang on 5 years from the original Japanese release so I thought that's what you meant!

I just checked Steamspy, and the game is at 73,416 ± 8,180. That's very, very low. So yeah, 7 million lifetime won't happen.

Edit: I also saw AC Syndicate sales. Jesus fuck! It's even more pathetic, only 47,477 ± 5,355?
you realize that steamspy is a bad judge fora game that is on more PC platforms than just steam.

Me and 4 friends that have been playing it own it directly through uplay, 3 of us due to free promotion from buying a GTX 970

edit: though I do realize the 7 million is completely unattainable

I think there are a lot of AC Syndicate codes from the NVIDIA promotion out there. And those activate directly on UPlay. I obviously don't know a number though and less sales than Unity is certainly still true.

I bought my AC syndicate code for Uplay. Since uplay is needed via Steam I don't see the point in steam plus uplay unless its a mega deal. When you factor in all the code and preorder offers which seemed to be all uplay based I don't think steam spy is a good gauge.

Do we have old Rainbow six game numbers. I'm guessing ~2008 the last time? These numbers don't surprise me.

The Nintendo UK thing is weird because the Wii and DS were huge. I think price, bad marketing and poor launches just killed it too quickly. The Wii and DS had incredibly good marketing. I thought it was very savvy but looking now it seems Nintendo lucked out and didn't grasp how good it was.
