Does 80% of PS4 Pro games perform better than 1X? If so then yes .. because that's what happening with PS5 vs Series X since 2020.
Not really. There are games better on SX, game better on PS5 but most of them are kinda the same.

And namely, one of the most graphically intensive games of the current gen, Alan Wake 2, is overall more performant on Series X.Not really. There are games better on SX, game better on PS5 but most of them are kinda the same.
ThisUltimately though, it’s both sad and wild that this still matters to people as much as it does (not saying you). Console wars and console warriors are both so… Corny. Lame even.
Damn it feels good being in the winning side for 30 years

I think this is the result of developers optimizing for the PS5 and Xbox Series X even more than they did four years ago.A 2~ fps difference is closer than previous IW engine games, borderline identical even.
2fps is enough for some warriors to claim victory. Then said console warriors will pretend that they don’t see the difference between a console and a high-end PC.For IW9 engine games, the PS5 seems to have a slight advantage.
* highly upgraded version of IW 8.0, dubbed "IW 9.0". The engine featured a new water simulation system, in addition to improved AI and audio.
* MWII, MWIII, Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2.0, to leverage assets from one another, reducing install size on all platforms.
I'm excited to see what improvements the PS5 Pro can make.

Always a joy to witness.
It really annoys me that they seemingly stopped doing side by side benchmark runs. Whatever happened to finding stress test areas and then doing same runs on them on different hardware? Its really hard to gauge performance difference between consoles when you are jumping from random clip to random clip.
Current gen only titles struggle to run at 60fps without drs going down to like 1080p so I’m not so sure having a higher base line would improve things… Unless you’re on PC or possibly PS5 Pro.great to see PS4 still holding back current gen titles

I think their official reason was that they didnt want to contribute more to console wars or something like that? Or did i invent that in my mind. You know why DF stopped, everyone knows
I wouldn't trust that source.I think this is the result of developers optimizing for the PS5 and Xbox Series X even more than they did four years ago.
The difference is so small that gamers playing on VRR monitors won't notice the difference.
The difference in 120Hz mode is also minimal, only a few fps. (This is an image of the same scene from Open Surprise.)
I played it on series x last night for the first time. Graphics seem very underwhelming for some reason, the last cod that impressed me was mw19 which seems crazy.
