Asked in the other thread, 79 % more copies of The Crew sold on the PS4 than on the Xbone. Expected?

Argos has a pretty awesome bundle of a white PS4, The Crew, FIFA 15, The Last Of Us and a £10 Argos voucher for £350. Not sure if that helped.

According to your sample of the three closest GAME stores? You aren't a statistician are you? Because i am. Sure i'm a BIO-statistician in cancer research but i still have basic knowledge in sample survey theory.

The entirety of Game online and Amazon online though?

Well, i guess Dragon age: Inquisition won't be getting a sequel. Shame, besides the awful conversation system and bugs it's a fairly enjoyable game.

After Da 2 I wouldn't be surprised if the series has a very hard time recovering. I know I'm not buying it unless used

Another anecdote, but like I said earlier too, there were almost none in a half dozen major stores that had everything else in stock in Maidstone, Aylesford and Sittingbourne in Kent. Considering how well it sold previously, the overwhelmingly positive reviews and the GOTY award on Friday night, I have trouble believing it's less desirable than a notoriously broken mess like ACU on the PS4.

Yeah, it's odd to see EA being conservative. Still, called up the Grainger here and they said their warehouse got in more stock today, so I assume it'll be the same elsewhere. We'll know for sure by next weeks chart!

Is that good or bad for The Crew?

PS4 version did better than I would have assumed. Not sure if that Argos bundle has inflated it since it leans 79% to the PS4 side, but it has been pretty much sent out to die.

That also didn't sell very well.

People buy Xboxes for shooters and sports games. Fans of everything else go Playstation.

Well, except Nintendo fans, obviously.
Nice assumption, its a damn shame to see dragon age fall off. I hope it sells enough for more sequels or its a sad time to game

Wow, did not expect DA to drop out of the charts so soon.

Good to see MK8 re-enter. Hopefully Smash will stay in the charts for another couple of weeks.

I'm on Amazon and GAME and DA:I is in stock on both. What are people talking about?

Once you click through to Amazon it says it's awaiting more stock coming in on the 10th December. Game have their usual message of "high demand so might be slower" when something is basically out of stock, but they know more is on the way to not discourage people into ordering.

EDIT: Amazon is showing in stock now, but wasn't when I made the original post while I was scanning around. Think they're just scanning them in now as it went from "Only 11 in stock" to "Only 13 in stock" when I refreshed lol.

It's kind of puzzling why a lot of peope appear to dismiss games sales made as part of a console bundle. You are still buying the game. What makes it less legit than a regular sale?

If I was in the market for a PS4, I would have gotten that Argos one with The Crew and sold it immediately. Would have been an extra £26 off at CEX or more if done through eBay.

Some of the bundles are so good that it's worth getting them regardless of interest in the games as you'll make a large chunk of change back selling them.

An interesting week :D
PLease sir, can we have some more

EVERYTHING!!

Nearly every bundle I've seen advertised on TV, seemed to have [insert title] + Drive Club as its bundle, it's nuts.

PS4 + Driveclub / The Last of Us / GTAV - £349.99

PS4 + Driveclub / The Last of Us / Farcry 4 - £349.99

Wow, some competitive bundles.

Makes sense why Far Cry and Driveclub have remained stationary and it probably means good hardware sales for the PS4 too.

Assumption nothing, we've seen all year that there's been a far bigger sales gap in the PS4's favour with titles other than (primarily first person) shooters and FIFA, regardless of which side has tie in marketing or bundles.

The only real exception I can think of being ACU, but that's both been heavily bundled and co marketed for the XO, and the PS4 version is a notorious shitty port job.

Even well made exclusives like FH2, or stuff that's portrayed as nearly a PS4 exclusive like Destiny, all show the same thing. The XO is very obviously appealing to a narrower audience than the PS4 is. I'd hazard a guess why, but that would be an assumption on my part.

And again, as people keep pointing out, DAI seems to have been under shipped previously, so the fact it's not charted probably just means it's sold out rather than lacking demand.

That word of mouth seems to be helping MCC.

Hindle will be so pleased!

I wonder whether it will coast through past lower-than-expected sales due to the amount of critical acclaim it's been getting. I mean, if EA makes another as good as Inquisition and gives it a proper marketing push there's no reason it can't be a big success, but in this instance they brought it out at the wrong time of year, they backed the wrong horse for the marketing and I think the backlash from DAII hurt it. It's a series that's been weirdly mismanaged ever since its inception, but coming off a strong game like Inquisition EA can still make any sequels a decent success.

EDIT - also, what the hell happened to Forza Horizon 2 on Xbone? I'm surprised the 360 version is outselling it.

Hopefully, but from my limited experience of EA's management they are extremely short-sighted.

It's a case of some games, let's say DC as an example, is a game most people probably wouldn't have bought normally. Also in regards to say CoD or AC where there will be more prominent bundles on the XBone vs on PS4 (I've not personally seen an AC PS4 bundle) then that skews the game wildly in favour of one platform, potentially hiding a games true performance. How many of these people buy a bundle with free games just to sell on. As opposed to actually wanting the game. I remember when I used to work in games retail, so many people would want to trade or flog a bundle game more often than not. And that didn't matter if it was the latest GTA or some old FIFA 06 junk.

DriveClub still climbing. I assume from bundles and sales.

None of which are in my local stores, though. My local GAME have it for £50! Even the console bundle is the most expensive one you can buy.

No it isn't. Driveclub is part of what probably is the most popular bundle right now. Driveclub, TLoU and another game for £350. It's part of 3 of the 5 bundles on offer in stores.

I hope square goes bankrupt. I hate them. I bet they announce Ffxii hd for PS3 for release in 2017.

I hate to sound like such a forumer but that is a studio with such poor management.

Type-0 HD for PS4 gives me hope that a FFXII HD announcement would reach PS4 too.

Yup, and Argos have a £350 one for LBP3, Minecraft and Driveclub too.

so which system is probably top selling.?
PS4 or XB1?

do we expect the sales to rise again this week or they might have fallen from the highs of 120k?

Fair to say the PS4 based on the games up there that are bundled.

I'm gutted that Forza Horizon 2 seems to have vanished off the face of the earth (for XB1). It really is a fantastic game, what a shame.

MK8 is back! Holiday effect is starting.

Is Dragon Age really sold out? That game deserves better if not.

So how's the stock situation with Amiibo's PAL GAF?

Basically this. Bought the cheapest PS4 bundle(DriveClub), and promptly sold the game since I didn't care about it.

Any chance Driveclub would have sold more than FH2 overall including bundles? Seeing Driveclub pop up in the charts surprises me. Happy for Evo though.

Well FH2 hasn't been bundled much except for that random Tesco bundle so I except it would have easily outsold it because of that.

I hope MS do some bundles early next year for FH2 and Sunset Overdrive.

Any chance? It's guaranteed.

One is officially bundled, the other isn't. Retailers aren't exactly rushing to bundle Horizon 2 with the X1 either.

FH2 deserves to be in the hand of more gamers. I feel it was a mistake not to bundle them. FH2 sales seems to be disappointing given that it is a spinoff of an established brand name and is a sequel. When they could release Forza 5 bundles I dont know why they are not bundling FH2.

Agreed. Seriously who from MS thought it would make sense to have such limited SO bundles?

didnt they have Forza bundles while back?

Also, Lego game is bundled with some PS4's as well.

Definitely doesn't make things up as he goes along.

well if we aren't counting bundles, as close as I can estimate would put Forza around ~90k ahead of DC so far

so I suppose it's possible, depending how many bundles are sold on top of that

They do.

I do wonder how much DC was sold digital at launch as well. It was a rare case of it being cheaper for once.

definitely 10$ cheaper would have been big draw... it is also pretty hot right now due to them fixing the multiplayer last week, photomode from 2 weeks back and todays patch with weather.

So whatever happened to Minecraft Vita version? Did flop or is it not out yet?
It had a better launch than the PS3 and PS4 versions (seriously!), but no legs.

We'll never know actual figures though, nor will we ever know the retail / digital split.
