I have a Palmone Zire72s. Even though its not exactly the most powerful thing out there it packs a pretty good punch for my needs. I have 2 questions though.

Is there anyway that I can get video to play on this thing?
Eg. Be able to convert a small mpg or quicktime movie to be able to watch it on the go?

Are there any good games that can run on my system? Solitare gets old after a while.

Thanks in advance!

P.S.

I'd prefer a free downloadable answer to my questions but I'll deal with it if I have to pay for it! :P

Screw you my Zire 72 rocks... anyway as quoted from a review:

PalmOne's Media app on the Zire 72 can playback Windows Media Player 9 format files (.asf files) and does an excellent job. Videos taken with the Zire's camera are in .asf format so Media can play them. If you're interested in watching movies in other formats such as MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4 and DIVX, check out the reasonably priced mmplayer for Palm OS. I tried the most recent "experimental release" ( v0.2.10) and it worked well on the 72. Playback was smooth and audio remained in sync when I tested MPEG1 and DIVX short trailers and indie shorts. The free Kinoma Player 2 also works well with the Zire 72 playing videos without a hitch.

As for free games? Some posted a site waaaay back but I don't remember it... many games however that you can download from various sites at the very least have trial versions available...many of the games at www.handago.com have trial versions available for download... hmm Galaga I may have to check that out....

Supported file containers
- AVI (*.avi)
- Matroska (*.mkv, *.mka)
- MP4 (*.mp4, *.m4a)
- Ogg Media (*.ogg, *.ogm)
- ASF (*.asf)

Supported audio codecs
- Mpeg 1 Layer III
- Ogg Vorbis
- Musepack
- AC-3
- AMR
- Adpcm, uLaw

Supported video codecs
- DivX
- XviD
- MPEG4-SP (plus B-frame support)
- MPEG1
- M-JPEG

Use it in conjunction with that freeware video convertor everyone uses for the PSP (use the PSP settings, even) and you get lovely video playback on your Palm. MP4 playback requires installing a "forbidden" codec, but the forums tell you where to get it.
