Sure, that might explain their motive but like... what's the draw? What reason do people have for watching this? It offers no entertainment value.

lol. dude, watch the video. it's pretty good.

what's with people calling them "shitty parents" ? did you even watch the video? they all seem to be pretty great parents that love their children.

They're doing something shitty to their kids so they can get attention on the internet. Those are pretty terrible parents.

In what world is telling your kids that Santa isn't real doing "something shitty" to them? Santa isn't real. Santa is not an important thing that kids need to believe is real. Why put a stupid amount of importance that kids keep believing it?

Personally I'm against telling lies to your kids but alas my wife is not. So some day maybe my kids will stop believing.

I remember when I found out (but not how I found out) and I was crushed for a night. Probably why I'm against it.

Typical staged Youtube nonsense.

Growing up as a Jamaican I never once thought Santa was real and remember years ago when I was younger thinking foreign kids to be stupid for believing such nonsense.
On the other hand most Jamaicans think homosexuality should be punishable by death so maybe us foreign kids aren't as stupid as you might think.

So you think they're shitty for doing it on YouTube or for telling them the truth? I ask because the latter makes no sense.

Honestly it was cute for the first couple cuts, but idk why they pushed so hard to convince the kids that latched onto their belief. Was weird, but whatever.

fwiw my dad just told me when I asked. We're Muslim so I asked why I didn't get anything from Santa and his response was "because he doesn't exist and Americans are strange". I got in trouble at school the next day for arguing with other kids about it lol.

I recall as a child putting 2 and 2 together and asking my mom if she was the one putting the presents under the tree. I felt so guilty when I realized it wasn't a magical fat man delivering the toys. When I have kids, I don't think I'll have it in me to lie about the existence of Santa.

It's the combination. As you can see in this thread, a lot of people enjoyed believing in Santa when they were kids. A lot enjoyed feeling like they lived in a world of magic. I think it kind of sucks if you want to take that away from kids, but I wouldn't classify that terrible, just a little mean. It's the doing it to make a youtube video that's fucked up.

It's like the video of trolls shouting spoilers at Harry Potter fans except they're doing it to their kids rather than strangers.

This isn't as bad as the videos of parents telling their kids that they ate all their Halloween candy. Now those were just shitty and cruel.

Exactly what this reminds me of. I wonder if it's the same people.

If only there was a way to differentiate between the presents sent by Santa and the presents other people got you. Like a tag of some sort.

Why? I don't want to arbitrarily pick some gifts I spent hard-earned money and effort on my children and give the credit to fake man instead.
