Path of Exile 2 Early Access |OT| An Exile like ARPG.

So, I may have to go trade league. I was thinking about SSF again but I think GGG are going to end up balancing the game around being able to trade since it is so easy now which would suck for people trying to make it through without that help.
Why would it suck for them? SSF is the same now as it always has been. That player experience remains unchanged.

Because if the game is taking easy trading to get the exact items you want into account, it should be very hard to get through for someone not taking advantage of that. I may be wrong, and maybe the drop rate for OP items will remain the same, but I am skeptical about that.

GGG history shows they don't really mess with drop rates on items, and occasionally for PoE1 changes currency drop rates when it was abysmal.

I really don't see this trade update somehow making the loot table drop rates change anymore than they already have. It's easy as shit to farm currency in PoE2 in its current and even launch state.

I hope that's the case. I'll probably just try SSF and if it becomes a chore, I can always switch later.

Looking to get further than I did before (around level 40 and a little before the end of act 2).

I'll try Huntress and/or Ranger a shot.

Watching some of the PoE YouTubers' impressions, I got the sense from one of them that the game will become a lot easier, but I guess that's only for people who really know what they're doing.
Youtubers are only going off patch notes, there are no impressions.

Think im going SFF again, if it get too funky you can always just switch back to the main league with everything.

There's only going to be one point in history when you can experience the craziness of the new trading system first hand, when everyone's trying to figure their shit out!

Yeah suppose, I just like finding shit for myself in these games. Although this game has been particularly stingy with drops in the past. Decisions, decisions.

What class you starting with this time round?

Well, you still find stuff for yourself. You just find stuff for other people too at the same time ahahaha. You can put all your extra findings in the guild stash :messenger_winking_tongue:

After the news of the 100 points weapon swap Witchhunter change, I think I'm going to start with Mercenary. I'll level with mace, lightning arrow, or grenades, possibly, depending on what I feel like. Those go through the campaign pretty quickly.

I might start with Tactician ascendancy first, the increased immobilize buff sounds strong since immobilize means stun, freeze, and electrocute. With reduced spirit costs, I can see an Overwhelming Presence (enemy stun threshold reduced) + stun/freeze/electrocute/pin attack build be pretty good for CC. Tactician is also good for party play with banners, so if there are a lot of people who want to party up, that would be a good support class. I'm also keen to test out the new "you can use any support gem multiple times" feature. There is herald chaining tech last season that was good on Warbringer because it has inherent armor break which leads to armor explosion which can proc heralds. If any of my skills can armor break now with the right supports, that might be interesting.

I just finished fucking around with a merc to about 45 ish i think. Good fun, the reloading on the crossbow was a bit clunky but I believe they fixed that in this update.

Ranger is the only class I have yet to put a decent amount of time into so its either that or the updated monk looks fun.

200+ hours in and ive still not played the end game for more than 10 minutes :messenger_sunglasses:

Yes, in season one I did Merc start, and it was cool for a time, but the clunky mechanics were annoying as fuck. That seems to be mostly gone now, so if anything, it'll be a much better experience than what I felt December last year!

Monk could be cool. The new Chayula updates look interesting, but I still like Invoker. My second choice was going to be Invoker because I figure it would be really cheap to gear if I go Hollow Palm Technique. Then I don't need to get a weapon, and I also don't need to get a body armor with spirit and I can just stack evade and ES.

The Threaded Light + Crown of Eyes combo is probably going to be a cheap way for lots of power too. Add in Invoker for free spirit, and that's even cheaper. This is a guide from last season, but it should still work.

Will 0.3 still be hard or is the difficulty toned down?
I'm not the biggest fan in hard difficulty for ARpgs.

Really cant decide what to go. I was new to POE at launch and only played through to maps once, as a merc and found it pretty easy with nades/galv shards.

Now its between Monk/Ranger and Warrior.

I'm thinking of a full poison build focus on Ranger. After using galv shards so much on Merc Id like to avoid lightning this time.

I wanted Templar to try melee but War with that hammer throw and fissures looks cool.

May play both to Act 2 then drop one.

Is this the big update folks are telling others to wait on to finally try out the game?

I have a few friends who have been holding off until the true release but they are going to be jumping in this weekend. Its free for the weekend so if anyone is curious, its a good time to try it out.

But what the game is at this release vs its 1.0 release will be a different game with a number of changes.

I got side tracked with work and life and haven't played in like 5 months. I'm on Act 2 with a Witch/Minion build. Should I start with a new character or press on with the new content/changes?

Just trying to get a pulse on all this. Can't wait to get back into this.

Id start fresh and do the new league so you can enjoy the new abyss content. As there is updates to passives/skills etc and your only in Act 2 , starting from fresh would be good refresher and you can re-look at your build.

Absolutely start fresh.

When i create a new league character do they auto get into my guild I created or do i need to log in to my standard guild leader character and invite them ? Might leave it until after weekend if thats the case, dont want to be having to Queue to sort out.

It's probably going to be relatively easier than previous seasons. They've been trying to get the accessibility in the right spot, each update. The game will still be challenging, but in a way that's fun and not frustrating. It still won't be perfect, but they're getting iteratively getting better.

Having access to our shared guild stash makes the game much easier by default since it solves a lot of gearing problems in the early game. Once we get our library filled out, gearing yourself for the campaign should be pretty easy.

FYI Forge Hammer is a level 31 skill so you're going to have to get to at least level 31 before you can try it out.

100% start a new character, and join the guild if you haven't already.

Your guild membership is account-wide. It should be the same among all your characters.

Was there that much trouble to get on last league? this queue thing i never experienced it with this game.
don't they have a twitch drop with the announcement of the patch ? did i just happen to miss it?

No, but this weekend is free to all. At launch there was a queue and that cost $30. There is a lot of hype for the new changes plus there is no barrier to entry for both console and PC so I expect some wait time unless GGG got a lot more server space.

I'm all too familiar with early access. And thanks for the reply.

Did they ever fix warrior? I bought the game during early access and started leveling a warrior but then I browsed the subreddit and they were all up in arms over how weak and broken the warrior was so I lost interest and stopped playing lol.

I've never been able to get into an ARPG before, not even Diablo.

Warrior is fine. It's strong for campaign. If warrior were weak it wouldn't be the record holder for quickest campaign clear 6 times in a row lol.

Watch the second video in this post for analysis from a good warrior player
