Path of Exile 2 Early Access |OT| An Exile like ARPG.

For those of you playing wolf, an important thing to remember is the relationship between your basic attack and freeze.

Whenever you hit frozen enemies with basic attack, ice shards fall off and detonate for more damage. Once I boosted my freeze magnitude and duration with the passive tree and support gems, the freeze attack - basic attack combo became very effective.

Be sure to also apply Fist of War to Pounce as well, as it gives a nice damage boost.

Havent been able to play much...but I was curious how the game ran on the Legion Go given the performance improvements reported.

Cleared the hunting grounds in Act1 with the Merc..ran great in terms of FPS and no shuttering...but the visual were bad and several textures didnt load.

Playable but not as good as it was back during initial launch.

Just dabbing around for now. Playing with new witch skills. Looks like the visuals have been boosted, but it no longer likes being alt-tabbed. Maybe I have to dial down the settings?

Going with Sorceress/Chronomancer Comet build with Archmage. Everything else, I will re-figure out. I already have a rough build ready to go. With her, I'll pick up gear that will go towards a new Druid Build.
Beating the game asap and getting all skill points is goal number one.

I'm doing these and it's awesome. Nice tips for anyone struggling.

I'm just now to Ogham Farm. Do you know if I have to beat act 1 to get the cosmetic before the weekend is over?

With the nearly simultaneous launch, now is the best time for a head to head comparison between D4's and PoE2's numbers. We can't see the Bnet numbers or the PoE standalone client numbers, so we just need to rely on Steam and Twitch.

Looking now, PoE2 has 79k viewers and D4 has 7.4k viewers. According to Steam Charts, PoE2 has 145k concurrent and D4 has 30k concurrent.

x10 the amount of players at the high, its not even close.

When POE goes FTP with 1.0 I expect the all time highs to break.

Poe2 has always been on steam since launch tho right? Didn't d4 spend it's first ~year exclusive to bnet? Don't get me wrong, poe2 is still winning but i bet it's a bit closer than those steam charts suggest.

Uh…yeah.Poe 2 early access release ver 0.01had less bugs than this goddamn Pally patch.

It's awful. I figured I could get through the d4 content this weekend and will jump into poe2 over my holiday break but the experience has been less than gratifying and most DEFINITELY not worth the $92 bucks I spent on the preorder.

Played a little of the free weekend and I enjoyed what I played. Game is very visceral and the animations feel great. So much weight to the combat.
I can't believe you can't just swap from controller to mouse like in D4. It's great to play with. A controller but fuck managing all the clicky stuff with it.

I'll happily wait for full release when it's free.

I managed to finish 1st act. Got all the cosmetics.. FOMO had me sweating.
Man, no one told me how complicated sorceress was, this play trough to get the djinns going to be long.

Yeah, I doubt it is accurate at all. Battle.net is still huge and then you have console where the more casual laid back D4 is most likely doing better. On PC for example, Counter Strike 2 kills CoD but if it came out for console I think more casual games like BF6 and CoD would kill CS2.

There has to be a reason Blizzard is supporting the game so well with expansions and costly cinematics. They are making plenty of money.

You can add me to the Steam numbers but the only reason I rebought it on Steam is because I wanted to play it on Steam Deck.

Yeah, and Jonathan didn't make it sound like it's coming any time soon which sucks. I paused the game on a boss and had to put my controller down and it disconnected for a split second and that STILL kicks you to the log in screen. Early Access indeed. It's odd cause GGG isn't exactly a small Indy anymore and you can hot swap and even use controller and a mouse at the same time with a lot of much smaller Indy games in EA.

So they have at least acknowledged the issue? Just aren't getting around anytime.
And yeah ANY modern game detects theme on the fly. Baldurs gate. Battlefield games etc.

Nope, you can play PoE2 on a standalone client. Same as PoE1. It's out on Epic Games Store too.

Yeah I'm sure the bnet numbers are pretty huge, so thats why I included the Twitch numbers too. That should be a decent indication of general interest, and those numbers are basically a 10x difference too.

Even when i Got suckmeh down to a tee last league, where I'd optimised so well that every run meant i had 15+ boons going by the end, it's still super fucking boring to play.

Just got past Viper. Was expecting a skill check, but she didn't even get a chance to float about and do the spear wall nonsense. Creased at how easy she went down lol.

I switched to wyvern. This shit slaps.

I still use pounce to apply marks and lunar assault to freeze, but my main clear (basic attack) and single target dps (oil barrage) is pretty good.

After playing with the new temple league mechanic for a while, I have to say that I think they delivered it undercooked. There are a lot of unnecessary pain points involved in setting the temple up and running it. The game also tells you next to nothing about what everything does. I realize that to some extent they want you to figure it out by trial and error, but the game doesn't even give you a lot of hints. Just a guess and check approach to seeing if any adjacencies level up.

Rolled a Druid after playing as a Merc early this year and holy shit this game is just so much fun. Now I understand the systems better, my wife and I are having an absolute blast playing this coop. Looking forward to Act 4 as we've not gone through it yet.

Can anyone let me know if you still have to complete the game twice to access the endgame content?

I expanded the space for the lower level gear of the gear library in the guild stash since it was getting a little crowded.

Twice? What do you mean? You only do the campaign once, then the 3 interlude acts, to reach the endgame content.

When I played through the first 3 acts in January, it threw us both back to the start of the game at a higher difficulty, basically making us play through the same content again before we could reach endgame. Seemed pretty stupid at the time.

Ooooh, I see what you mean. That was before they had enough content. Now, you do the 3 acts, then act 4, then these bespoke "interlude" acts which are like short story campaigns.

Good to know, some of the bosses were pretty fucking hard so we didn't fancy completing it twice back to back. Cool that there are just a couple extra bits to get through now.

any one had any luck doing the lil build a maze? im still in act 2.. but those it get any better those it become worth it?
i notice the abyss holes are here as much.
im new( not new new.. nut new enough, this is my 3rd) to the whole poe leagues thing.. but the huntress had the spirits, after that the abyss, now the pyramid? each league season has a gimmick im guessing.
Question is, is this methods of update going to be in the real game , im asking since we are in early access. Is these gimmicks for us to vote on somewhere so they go i nto the main game?

The circles that appear in each map are decent because a lot of them give a guaranteed quest drop of useful currency. The temples during the campaign are also useful because you can get exalt orb-like effects to use on upgrading your gear and also free sockets. However, as it goes on, the temple mechanic becomes a bit long-winded and confusing. The time/reward balance isn't quite there in the endgame, IMO.

The league mechanic that is introduced will be assessed and tweaked and then reintroduced as part of the "core" game. Many players liked Abyss so they implemented that into the core game. The temple mechanic is a mixed bag right now, so they will need to do a lot of improvement on it before it can go into the core game.
