Paul Walker's character to return in Fast 11 - Confirmed by Vin Diesel

So, are they even going to bother addressing the insane cliffhanger ending from the last one?

Man, I can still hear the groans from the packed IMAX theater when they pulled that BS with Fast X.

The third spiderverse movie is going to have that same problem, if it even comes out.

Fast movies are hilarious. They are consciously over the top self-aware dumb, but at the same time self-serious and all about "da family".
I like them tbh. So dumb it's fun. Hopefully Walker will be deepfaked well. It sucks that he died. Running Scared was fucking fantastic.

They already did it with full scenes in the 6th(?) movie.
Yeah, that's a good point, they've pulled it off before. I just think its really hard to keep it looking good consistently over longer stretches

Its just one of those things where even small inconsistencies can pull you out of the moment. Im all for CGI when it blends well, but when it takes center stage too long, it starts to feel a bit artificial. Hopefully they pull this off!

But I'm excited to see them sticking to street races :messenger_ok:

If they use his brother as a basis and then blend CG and the very latest and best AI image generation they'll probably get a much better result. Seen multiple examples where even rudimentary deepfake models were an improvement on uncanny CGI characters.

With something like this -- if they insist on doing it -- I'd be a lot more concerned with whether the result is good and not some moral qualms about AI. I think AI can do a better job at this point.

Only ever watched the first fully. Saw clips of the 2nd. Completely lost me when they went away from street racing but I never cared for the series from the start because I hate riced out cars.

It also led to lots of ugly Civics and made Need For Speed go from being about cool cars to uglified economy cars.

Brian end was perfect for Fast and Furious 7. I normally would be against his return but if this is really the last Fast and furious movie I can see the need for a conclusion of his story with the rest of the team. Hopefully they dont kill too many of them. Don't make a new one in at least a decade (maybe a spin off) and don't make him there for no good reason.

Somehow, Brian returned.

Looks like Vin hitting the gym is gonna be a bigger concern with this one. With the ridiculous cliff hanger on the last one I had kinda thought they were making them back to back, sucks they aren't even filming yet now two years later. Between this and Spiderverse I hope movies have learned not to do cliffhanger endings when your next movie doesn't even have a script.
