Paula Deen admits to using N-word, telling racist jokes in deposition, report says.

Holy shit what sort of awful lawyer does she have, letting her give that deposition. How hard is it to lie through your fake teeth and say "no, I've never used any awful racial slurs"? And when she's accused of wanting to put on some sort of tap dancing minstrel show, her response is "no, no, you misunderstand. I merely wanted to be waited on by house slaves!"

She's been living high off the hog for years. The woman has her own line of cookware, she won't be in the unemployment line or anything. Just doesn't have a place in the public eye anymore.

A lawyer can only do so much. When a client is as blissfully stupid as Paula Deen apparently is, how can he corral that?

You can tell from her deposition that she has no idea that being racist is actually a bad thing. She seems to think that everyone is racist at home, and that they are forced to stop being racist when they are at work, in the same way you have to wear pants to go to work, but you can wear boxer shorts in the house.
 
Ouch. Looks like Food Network is not renewing her contact. I guess those apologies didn't work. She is going to be come pretty poor fast. No longer can she sell all those cook books and stuff. I guess she still has her restaurant. Not going to lie, I use to watch her all the time, but good of the Food Network, they are only protecting their image.

I wonder if her sons shows will still air, and what will replace her shows. They are on all the time. I hope something other than DDD, I love guy, but enough. lol
 
For a hilarious read go on over to the Food Network FB page and read all the sad, sad bigots that are saying they are boycotting the network now because they won't re-up Paula's contract.

The difference is if you are joking or not. From the employee's statements it sounds like it was a pretty common occurrence and not a one time joke between friends over beers.

I can imagine the same people asking for her show to be canceled if she had come out as gay.
 
My wife doesn't believe Paula would do something like that... she refuses to believe because she had black people over her house. I'm at a loss for words right now.

She'll be back. They rehired Robert Irvine after he lied on his résumé.

I'm really going to get my popcorn for when she makes her appearance in Masterchef this season. I wonder what Fox will do about it.
 
Interesting if they stick too it. Cause they fired Robert Irvine for lying on his resume, but rehired him a year later. But lying on a resume and wanting to bring back sharecropping are two different things.

I will stop watching Food Network if Paula Deen is not brought back. The powers in charge may not have wanted to renew her contract and jumped on this ridiculous story. Blacks and whites have used the N word, I haven't heard of any blacks being persecuted for it. Being a racists is a different story, I do not believe Paula Deen is a racist. I support Paula Deen, hang in there Paula this too shall pass. TS a fan

Sigh, seen people on facebook pulling the "cast the first stone" card on top of this apparently being THE event that has shook their Food Network faith right down to the core from favorite to unwatchable.

If you're first retort to anything racial even remotely like this is something vaguely Biblical, you've got to understand you are on the wrong side of things and throwing out mad vibes of "doth protest too much",
