So it only pisses you off when White people do it. Gotcha.
White people have been on notice for 30 years. You will be destroyed if deemed biased. Beware!
White America is a fixed concept. I didn't say White Americans purposefully.
I don't like racists in general. And that being said your post doesn't respond to anything I said and constructs a false attack I didn't make. Who is saying "white people are on notice?" All I asked for was a little more self reflection. Ending racism isn't some zero-sum game where minorities win and whites lose. In fact, that kind of attitude shows implicit knowledge of white privilege and advantage that minorities don't share and a desire to keep it that way..So it only pisses you off when White people do it. Gotcha.

I don't view racism only through the predominant (white) view in america that only acts done expressly because of a persons race are racist.
Racism is a pervasive idea that quietly shapes the norms, desires, culture, image of a country in a direction that reflects the white (or whatever the race may be) norm, it marginalizes, criticizes and belittles those that don't share in it. I don't think racism has gone away at all. Its changed (though obviously many aspects have gotten better, ex. no more of the publicly condoned lynchings and segregation)

This is such an ignorant post. Good god.You don't have to say it. White people are absolutely on notice when it comes to race. It may not be talked about openly, but if you even venture into that grey area that's it. It's over for you. Labeled and destroyed. Not much will happen to you if you are bigoted against whites, in fact many whites are self-deprecating when it comes to these matters.
Racism shouldn't have to exist, but it does, and the reason it does is because we don't trust one another with our livelihood.

How come Tarantino can write a movie with the word and be applauded, but when she does she gets fired? Seems backward
You're welcome.
You're essentially complaining that white people aren't allowed to be openly racist. That you're even concerned about it makes me think the thoughts are there. Yeah, minorities are hostle to white people at times, but sometimes it's hard to blame them considering how ignorant people treat them for no other reason than their skin color. I'd probably have a chip on my shoulder too. You know the last time I got singled out or judged because of my skin color? Oh right, never. It sure is tough being white and not being allowed to talk about how unfair it is.

Now, I'm going to play devil's advovate here. Lets say that, hypothetically, she used racist language years and years ago...does this warrant boycotting her now?stupid ass black people going to her restaurant, defending her and shit. get the fuck out of here. they disgust me.

Her face looks photoshopped on. It doesn't move right with her body lol.

We used to work on commercials with Paula Deen, and everybody I've talked to who was on set said that the things that would come out of her mouth were horrendous. Never heard anything about her saying anything racist, but just generally foul-mouthed.
This:
sounds exactly in line with all the stories I've heard over the last few years about her.

Dylan Wilson for The New York Times
Nicole T. Green, first in line at Ms. Deen's restaurant, came from Virginia to support her.

EDIT: What I'm asking is whether there is a statute of limitations on ignorance. Remember Obama was against gay marriage (expicitly) before he was for it, as one instance. Can someone redeem themselves?
No, that's not what I am saying. What I am saying is that if you are white and it is even implied that you have made a judgement based on race, it is pretty much automatically going to be a bad ride for you. Am I the only one who sees the race card played so many times and wonder what the heck is going on here?

It's like you two are speaking different languages: thoughtful, critical, honest rhetoric and ... dogshit.
Quite honestly, the bigger career/life destroyer is making statements against whites and Jews.

speedline maybe you shouldn't take the "White America" stuff so personally, unless you personally identify with "White America". And if you do, could you tell me how you do.
vv: nah. money isn't in selling your own butter product. Money is in helping someone else sell their butter product, and getting paid lots to do it. I think she learned from the mistakes of Jimmy Dean.
I don't know why-- it just seems that white people take the brunt of the responsibility to somehow resolve the race issues. We don't have an answer, can't change the past, can not justify what was done- not trying to. I think most of white people have taken the time for reflection, Paula Dean being the fringe of what is left of a dying breed. It is going to take some thing extremely hard to do imo, forgiveness. Can the black community ever forgive the whiite community for what transpired? I don't know, but what I do believe is that this concerted effort that is placed on the the white population to "fix thier problem" is not going to do anything other than split sides and create a backlash. I don't have the answers.

I don't get it?
I don't get it?
You have serious guilt issues dude. Can the Koreans and Chinese forgive the Japanese for previous transgressions? Can Albanians, Serbians and Croatians forgive the the Turks for what transpired? Will Arabs and Jews ever get along? What about Pakistan and India?
And I'd love to know what what this "concerted effort" for the "white population" to "fix thier problems" is. I never got the memo, but I'm Albanian and 70% or so of us are Muslim in Europe so would you consider us white?
But you make an interesting point. It is going to take a meeting somewhere in the middle. But is that even feasible in the coming times, when things look like they're going to get much worse for most of us on the other side of the 1% sign? Who knows? Maybe that will make it even more likely.
shocked how this was the top story... With all that's going on in the world this was all the program had for the whole fucking day.... I was playing TF2 most of the day... seriously couldn't believe they had this as the top story with Syria, Edward Snowden, Obama's NSA etc. etc. going on.

I can give volumes of material where people got onto Tarantino.
Can the black community ever forgive the whiite community for what transpired?\\
.
I'll save you the trouble.
Tarantino = Word used in fictional movies against imaginary characters.
Paula Deen = Word used to discriminate against/around an employee.
If he can't understand that it's not worth your time.
