Oh hell yeah. I wish I remember the name of the group but they prop him up to be an anti big government hero.
.

You just know the Klu Klux Klan loved him.

"He didn't know how to deal with life, with no one to help maintain his plantation'

Poor guy. Lincoln just fucked everything up.

I picked up on that, too. I got an idea Grandpa Deen.... why don't you hire men and pay them, for a change?

I KNEW IT

And your essentially saying it's ok to be racist against whites because it's an understandable chip.

Racism is bad no matter how you put it. Yes, even against whites.

If we're going to go in circles and say "hey, they've been through all this they have a right to... " when does it end?

And here in Los Angeles, whites are the minorities. You do not want to be white in a sociology class here, singled outt every time.

oh no the horror someone give this man reparations for his suffering in a comfortable college classroom, he's been through soo much

Thank you for reminding us that racism against whites is bad. We need to be reminded of the very obvious. For clarification, he meant that some minorities harbor deep resentment towards whites; not out of baseless racism, but the poor treatment that whites in power continue to inflict upon them.

No idea why you felt the need to point out one of the few places where whites aren't a majority, as if your pitiful example is evidence that the tables have turned (in LA anyway) and whites there are marginalized in any meaningful way.

I grew up in Texas. One of my grade school history teachers would straight up deny with a straight face that the South lost the war. Not to mention the best times was back when Texas was its own country, not being brought down by the US laws.

Ah, those were fun times.

Nuff said.

More news.

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- A civil and human rights organization founded by Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr., has found evidence of systemic racial discrimination and harassment by Paula Deen.

The Rainbow/PUSH Coalition and it's attorney, Robert Patillo, traveled to Savannah to investigate and interview employees of Deen's food conglomerate.

According to Robert Patillo, who interviewed several current and former employees, a family member consistently referred to a black cook as "my little monkey"; a black male employee who threatened to go to EEOC with complaints of discrimination was told "you don't have any civil rights here" by Deen's brother; that whites are routinely paid more and promoted sooner than blacks; that until recently a black women who for years helped Deen create her recipes and taught her to cook was paid less than $10.00 per hour; that Deen preferred white and light skinned blacks to work with customers and relegating darker blacks to back-of-the-house operations; that blacks are reluctant to speak openly about working conditions due to fears of retaliation from Deen.

Attorney Janice L. Mathis, VP of Rainbow PUSH indicates that "these reports seem to indicate systemic discrimination and exclusion and are inconsistent with Deen's statements. The allegations are credible in the sense that they corroborate each other. Unfortunately, there are still pockets of culture in the South that persist in unenlightened attitudes and practices."

Just days after Deen confessed to and apologized for making racially offensive comments about African-Americans, the Food Network announced they would not be renewing her contract, which is set to expire at the end of June.

The shit said about her father killing himself because he lost some slaves or some bullshit is small potatoes compared to this.

Shes fucking finished like no other.

Looks like Paula's son was on CNN this morning saying how she's done charity work for black people.

Is that a new spin on my best friend growing up was black? Lol. It's gotten to the point where the whole family has gone into damage control mode. But she just keeps coming off worse as every new information comes out.

I'm not so sure about that...people have short memories regarding this type of stuff, unfortunately.

If she loses Sears and QVC, she is done. They are the biggest places to buy her cookware.

They both say they are monitoring the situation.

I love this...this basically says

"Well, her cookware is making us money hand over fist, but we'll drop her the second we sense risk that we'll actually lose business due to this."

"My great grandfather shot himself in the head because he didn't have anymore slaves and they went on to live as free men and women...boohoo"

Good. Imo he died so that 30 others could live a somewhat free life.

I told my little brother about this yesterday. I tried to find the right time. He loves Paula Deen, her way of cooking, her show and wished to meet her some day. We were in the grocery store checkout and he saw the tabloid. Normally those things are like acid and embarassing to even glance at with their celebrity gossip but he snatched it quick. I could tell that a small part of his world was turned upside down.

What is the GAC channel? Seems like some country music channel. Anyway, when I searched for Paula Deen its showing they will be airing her shows now, unless they don't. But Food Network was fast to take her off the lineup.

I don't understand being racist in general, but if you are going to be racist and famous, it's only a matter of time before it comes out, and you shouldn't act surprised when people are against you for it.

To be fair, it is his Mom and the empire is crumbling, which he and his brother hope to inherit. What else is he gonna do?

But damn, Paula messed up on multiple levels.

She basically called everyone on this planet a sinner on the Today show interview this morning. She almost lost it at the end there, I don't know if I buy it.

No, that's not what I am saying. What I am saying is that if you are white and it is even implied that you have made a judgement based on race, it is pretty much automatically going to be a bad ride for you. Am I the only one who sees the race card played so many times and wonder what the heck is going on here?

LTTP, but it aint been a bad ride for Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, and Trump.

I miss understood. She said if anyone out there has never sinned or made fun of someone, throw a rock at her and kill her. She wants to meet you. Or something.

She's religious and that's from Scripture: "He who has no sin cast the first stone". It was hardly an accusation given her worldview.

She's basically saying that she not perfect and we all make mistakes. But that's lost if you don't subscribe or are familiar with the Christian worldview.

I felt like the role of Paula Deen on The Today Show this morning was played by Meryl Streep. It was awful to see her carrying on like that. Not Matt Lauer's best interview either; he definitely should have come down harder on her.

Anybody from the South know? Is John Wilkes Booth considered a martyr/hero by some in the South? He was in Columbia (Bioshock), at least.

He's probably considered a hero by some in the North as well as the South. I see a truck with a confederate flag painted on the back window every day on my walk at work in Columbus, OH. Shake my head every time. Stupidity knows no geographic boundaries. But no, raised in the South and he was never treated as hero in school, by my family, or by myself.

What's funny is I never heard of this fat slob until now. Destroy her brand and ruin her life, who the hell cares if she is a good cook.

After seeing some of the responses in here, I can see some of you are no better than her. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I'd be more surprised if you could find an old Southern white woman who hasn't used the N-word (repeatedly). Times have changed but a lot of the South hasn't caught up (and/or refuses to).

I've even heard my own mother use it and she isn't racist in the slightest. Heck she married my dad; an African American when interracial marriages were looked down upon.
