There is no MS only game show except X0x in Europe, and it's in september. I guess you must be thinking about GDC (Games Developers Conference), in March this year. And yes Xenon will be there one way or another, at least with some technical demos. Just do not expect 1st/2nd party games.
There was no X04 because there wasn't much to show there. No new games, nothing major to announce since every new stuff would be on the yet announced Xenon system.
X05 is still very possible. I hope I'll be there
Well I suppose they're going to have to have some event close to the Xenon's launch to show more complete software than at E3, so you're probably right.
Sorry to bump a slightly old thread, but xbox.com is linking to an article/advert for Bill Gates' CES Keynote under its news section, with the headline "CES 2005: Future Tech Bill Gates keynote address is on January 5." The plot thickens..
Is this a general someone, or someone you're thinking of in particular? There are a couple of MS-linked guys here, one in particular I can think of, but I'm not sure if he'd even know about this. MS may be keeping their PR plans very quiet even internally.

Lol, of course, if they do know anything I'd expect them not to breathe a word, but I'm just saying that even "MS-insiders" that may be here might not know what's up.
I remember Xbox 1 unveiling being hyped to the max. Then they showed us a bunch of uninspired games like Amped and Nightshade and Azuric. I hope they dont pull that again with XB2

Those games were shown at Microsoft's own event called Gamestock which was in March, not at CES, or GDC. The only thing shown with Xbox at CES when it was shown for the first time was Malice.
