Pearl Jam just got funky

I haven't been a fan of Pearl Jam in a long time, and this doesn't do much to change it.

I expected it to sound more like old Red Hot Chili Peppers, instead I got something The Killers or a more recent band would do to try to keep themselves relevant.

🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

Ok I really love it after ten listens. It is super goofy, but I will take super goofy over the last 15 years.

Yeah I would not expect this to change anyone's mind.

It is interesting in that this song is closer to New Wave then their past three albums. They have never made a song like this.

Green Day is doing the same thing, they are writing hooks to use in commercials and it's killing me,

These were supposed to be the anti establishment Gen X bands, and now they are selling out faster then limited edition Jordans.

All we need now is Trent Reznor writing McDonald's jingles.

This is different for them. I only heard they were making a new album today. I feel this song gets better as Eddie changes his vocals. Early on, he's doing the same vocals he has been doing for awhile. When he shifts it up then it matches the sound and the song picks up.

Reminds me a bit of No Code, which felt like the last time they really tried some stuff. The prominence of the drums reminds me of No Code as well.

Ehh, it's not terrible.

I'm seeing them in July for the first time which is pretty exciting. It'd be great if they just played Ten twice in a row, but beggars can't be choosers.

Sounds cool, Donnie Darko kinda vibe, vocals are great. I stopped keeping up with the Jam around 2000's Binaural, but I love his voice and that mid/early stuff.

What a weird-ass song.

It reminds me when Strokes released their tecnobrega song One Way Trigger in 2013 and they really triggered the shit out of many people.

Sounds like something that would be on a sports game soundtrack.

EDIT: OK, now I know why it sounded familiar - it kind of reminds me of a shittier version of a song from the MLB The Show 18 soundtrack;

They peaked at Do the Evolution in my eyes and I've never listened to a newer album since. All I hear with every song is Evenflow again and again.

Have you listened to Sirens? To me, it's one of the best songs they ever put out, and it's from the last decade.

I never listen to radio so whenever I hear something I like it's always 5 years old and I'm the last person to know, I'll check it out!
