Anything below 16 is always a crime.

For people 20 and under, 16 and up.

For people over the age of 20, 18.

That's fair. I'm not trying to argue that mores will never change. My argument is simply that the historical developments concerning acceptance of homosexuality and the shift of sexual values in modern times in are a strike against the greater acceptance of pedophilia, not a blow for them. To the extent that pedophilia may be accepted in the future, it is likely to be because of a de-emphasis of consent as the primary sexual value which would also likely lead to less acceptance of homosexuality.

Well I believe if you were 18, with a 16 year old, the parents consent for a relationship would be easy to get. And that would be a good way to "defend" from much older people. I mean, if you are 25 or older, going for 15-16 year old girls, that's terrible in my opinion, and the parents consent would help prevent that.
Of course, sneaking up would still happen, but at least 16 would be a good age in the case of not comitting a serious crime.

All I've said this whole time is it doesn't necessarily they will act on it. Pedophilia is just the attraciton, that is all that is necessary for pedophilia. Jailing people for thought crimes is ridiculous. While I think pedophilia is downright disgusting, I don't think we should shun pedos who are looking for help. There should be avenues set up so a pedo can come forward and get some help. Not go on a witch hunt to throw them all in jail.

The primary function of sex is reproduction. Bonding, and that other stuff are secondary functions in some mammals like humans. The notion that the main evolutionary reason for sex is bonding is a load of crap, and something any evolutionary professors would disagree with.
