People are streaming "shows" via PS4 twitch..

I hate this Live Playstation crap its too damn addicting. I just want to be able to sit down and play some games but instead I spend hours watching random people doing ridiculous stuff and I cannnnnntt stop.

Word. Its kinda sad but I want to see people do crazy shit on my PS4 :(

I knew twitch would eventually bring the hammer down...

As long as people stay on gaming related topics, their streams will remain up.

Maybe Sony and Twitch should allow people to stream to JTV?

That's bullshit because several people were actually just playing the game. Not trying to make a talk show or anything.

tomford has his wife in the room and everyone is being pretty decent. it's kind of interesting me more than when they were being mean.

I know I'm pretty surprised nobody is dropping the name tika left and right or telling his gf in vivid description what happened last night like earlier. It's just chill except for that nazi guy in chat.

That's basically what twitch is. The same thing over and over again. I mean, I love watching speedruns for example, but fundamentally that's what they are. The same game played (pretty much) the same way. And its the same people watching the same streams, posting the same jokes.

There's comfort in familiarity, and that's probably why a stream like The Spartan Show will continue to be popular.

Yeah i get that but his show is so boring, he doesnt engage the callers with gamer questions just begs for follows and likes.

Yeah i also love watching speedruns.

I don't think any other game has a requirement where actively playing the game isn't gaming enough. Spartan Show isn't doing anything but then you get people being banned who are playing with the robots, doing the ducks, playing pong, and the disco thing constantly.

Exactly. And, going off of info from another gaffer, there's partnered people on twitch who clean their kitchen or do whatever and don't get banned.

Err. I'd argue that most of Twitch is broadcasters playing new games all of the time and discussing the new aspects and mechanics of games and not the same thing over and over again.

DansGaming casts video games the vast majority of time and has proven to cast reliably. That's why he doesn't get banned.

I just want a karaoke game to come out so I can watch people stream that.

I imagine just playing the playroom will count as gaming once more dlc is released if it adds proper game elements. Hell if they made Asobi more like an eyepet and there was a wide variety of stuff you could do with him, people could stream that while the audience asked them to make him perform certain tricks or whatnot.

I imagine it will all work out in the end, with the best channels gaining a dedicated audience and everyone else just streaming for the fun of it.

I click on this stream featuring a father and his young daughter and first comment I see "Have you thought about having sex with your daughter". Some people. Just Ugh.

tbh i didnt even know it was his daughter. i just thought he had a slightly younger asian wife. then i saw the comments and was like riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. people, man.

Spartan Show call ins remind me of living in the dorms where the school had their own tv station. People would call in to this one sports show and be like, "Yeah, about the GSU vs SCU game... eat a d*** you f**** loser nobody want to watch this b***** a*** f***** show anyways," and that was like the sole enjoyable thing about it.

Wouldn't help them, but damn Twitch streaming really needs moderation tools. I don't know why nobody thought to add the ability to moderate/ban would be a good thing. Almost like Twitch never actually watched a Twitch stream before.

I just got my PlayStation 4 camera today.

I'm thinking my show will be Bane plays Battlefield 4.

***Bane Voice***

"Perhaps he's wondering why you would shot a man and then parachute out of a plane... Time to go mobile."

In a related note the PlayStation 4 camera is basically sold out everywhere in my hometown and on Amazon. Crazy.

Does anyone feel like the popularity of streaming is going to make the ps4 userbase explode? It seems like this is super popular.

If they let people keep doing random streams from parties and stuff like that, I could see this being a big plus for the casual market. If it ends up being mostly things like The Spartan Show, I don't think it'll bring in too many new users. Either way this should lead to a rise in the number of PS4 cameras being sold.
