Okay, this is actually really fascinating.
The PS4 Camera is, after all, by default going to be a popular accessory, and I'd be shocked if it didn't become apart of the basic package eventually. My guess is that this'll happen when the X1 drops it price, Sony will just bundle the camera rather than dropping the PS4's price.
The X1 of course, comes with a camera, so theoretically every X1 user has this same option as well, unless I'm missing something.
This means, that the next round of consoles is going to do something completely new. Each new console is now a potential gateway for users to create their very own television show. If I had to guess, these shows will probably remain fairly, "sparten," for the short term, but if this really becomes a selling point I could easily see this changing.
How long until Sony or Microsoft ups the ante, by including decent video editing tools in the consoles themselves? How long until one company or the other starts offering promotional tools, and channels for helping people to discover user created content that they may like.
Oh, sure, Youtube did the same thing for PC's. However, consoles have the potential to streamline the process, and further push it into the mainstream. If that happens, well, I'm not sure what would happen really, but I'd love to find out. XD
