People are streaming "shows" via PS4 twitch..

Wow so, before I realized it, I was actually enjoying a stream of a sweet married couple just playing around with Playroom.

Then it got banned. :/

Why the fuck are they banning all the Playroom streams? Most of these people are doing nothing wrong. Twitch is really coming off as huge douches now.

Why do these streams keep getting shut down? What's going on in there? :P

I believe Twitch.tv has the sole purpose of allowing people to stream gameplay. If they wanted to stream something else, they'd have to be streaming on Justin.tv ... I think.

Probably paranoid of it escalating into something a little shady? Likely because of that couple yesterday. Although that was a bit different in that it started off with them drinking, etc.

I'm kind of hoping this will all settle down, and some quality streams will be allowed to continue. But I feel as long as you give people a camera and the ability to stream to a large audience, you will get some unsavoury or just stupid individuals who will ruin it for everyone.

I know these are getting shut down since they don't have much to do with gaming, but damn if they aren't entertaining. I didn't imagine the streaming would take off in this way. That's the coolest thing about all of this. I don't think anyone really saw it coming.

Lots of them do non gaming stuff and Twitch never bans them for it.

They should ban all their "partners" that stream themselves cooking then.

I've never seen that lol - usually the people are talking about gaming stuff most of these people are doing odd things ...they all can use Ustream though i mean it doesn't make sense to be doing that on twitch , just saying.

I am guilty of watching some of the stuff myself though ...watching the dude with his wife getting drunk was really just entertaining for a few moments because of the chat, lol.

I don't know why I'm still interested in these streams? o_O

I been a member of jtv/twitch since 2008 and this has been the most interesting development on those sites in quite some time for me. What a weird phenomenon!

They're just coming off as huge douches now? Clearly some of you haven't been following what they've been up to already this week.

They've always been huge douches and only recently has everyone else discovered this on their own. Even before the speedrunning stuff went down people have had problems with the site.

They just love to play favorites.

A lot of them are getting closed for non-gaming related content. The talk shows I have seen on Twitch are usually e-sports related by people who actually commentate huge tournaments. Not sure if that covers all of them though since I don't usually watch them.

Most of the stuff being closed right now is just being getting on camera and talking to their chatroom about whatever. Better off going to UStream for that.

thats what im saying.

I'm all for closing the streams with kids, the comments sections are filled with hate, profanity and sexual harassment. The kids are also usually under the age of 13, so they are breaking the ToS.

But I don't know see why the streams with adults can't be left open, and just ban the people making the inappropriate comments. The earlier party stream, for example.

Lots of people do that on Twitch and are not banned, most of them are twitch partners too, and make Twitch money via subscriptions to their channels.

Just Twitch being Twitch again.
