From that Nintendo minute shit on ign.
http://cube.ign.com/articles/606/606981p1.html
We've noticed quite a few websites speculating about what we will and won't do with Revolution at E3. And that may have lead to some confusion. As Mr. Iwata has stated on several occasions -- most recently GDC - Revolution will be discussed at this year's E3 show. Unfortunately we can't go into detail right now on exactly how much Revolution information we plan to discuss.

She doesnt say anything! :lol
Another great piece brought to you by ign.

She doesn't say anything because she doesn't know anything. I wouldn't be surprised if all of NoA was completely in the dark about what will happed at E3 in regards to the Revolution.

I dunno. It's basically saying whats been said is speculation, and maybe inferring that it should be ignored. Which is useful in itself I guess.

Maybeyou don't understand. IGN has this facination with NoA execs and their ability to act Jedi like.
I know :/

Youre probably right. Good ol' Nintendo :D

NoA not knowing anything it a bit of a reach

IBM - US based
ATI - North America based

see the connection?

It would be very hard for me to swallow that NoA knows nothing.

What would be the point of NCL of having NoA in the first place.

I can better understand that NoE knows nothing :D

Knows nothing about what they'll show at e3.
But you're right, this close to the show, I don't doubt that they know. Just wanted to join the fun (:

Well, I cant imagine that Perrin knows exactly how much of Revolution will be discussed at E3. Thats a decision thats usually made at the last minute by the Nintendo execs in Japan, who also are the ones responsible for keeping NOA on a tight leash by limiting the amount of info they can talk about.

Perrin Kaplan clearly doesn't know shit about anything going on with Nintendo and the Revolution, and is talking straight out of her ass................

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's the shit

Kaplan - most pointless interviewee ever. I would rather interview a toilet.

Besides, she is bullshitting. It is a fact that Iwata has changed his thinking since he last spoke at GDC.

What interview???i though that to an interview actually happen you got to have a minimum amount of information revealed......is this the case?? NOPE....

The fact of the matter is that Nintendo is gonna be a no-show at E3 this year.

It will be the sequel to the E3 that their biggest highlight is the freaking Pac Man Vs. That's all. :(

Perrin Kaplan is a huge waste of space and is hands down the WORST interview with reguards to anything. She NEVER states anything other than the obvious and she always dances around topics people want to know about like why is Nintendo falling so far behind. Her interviews have been so pathetic over the years and aggrivating that I've decided to throw a huge party when she gets eventually gets canned. Shes the weakest PR person in the industry period.

The fact of the matter is that neither you nor I nor anyone else here knows what's going to happen at E3, so I suggest we all just wait and enjoy the event.

So it probably helps that she's not a PR person. She's the vice president of marketing and corporate affairs.

Sigh. One thing about the crack pipe, it does tend to get passed around.

well we know at least some new consoles will be shown^^

I hope nintendo brings the goods though.. wait for E3, wait for spaceworld, wait for tokyo game show... I'm tired of waiting! bring on the revolution N!

Since when do Nintendo execs. come out straightforwardly & answer your questions? Esp. Kaplan, don't kid yourselves she knows plenty. I would personally expect demo footage & possibly rough specs. Remember next year will be yet another E3 where the Revolution will be in its final form. I wouldn't expect too much more from Sony's presentation.

Honestly, do you really think that she'd just up and tell IGN what is going to be discussed at E3?

You can post all the crackpipe and doobie pictures you want, no one at NOA gets told shit about shit until Kyoto is ready to have the press release translated. It's almost painful reading their interviews where they're pretending to be privy to all the super-secret strategies to trounce the competition that they are dying to reveal.

How the hell do you know what info does and doesn't get released to the NoA execs by the NCL execs and at what times?

Keeping the the international office that is most responsible for your profits out of the loop would be financial suicide. So to think that your American VP wouldn't know whats going on is wrong on so many levels.

Do you honestly believe what you just wrote? :lol

Is it so wrong to give the DS a huge showing this year instead? Rev will have its day, but

the thing will launch late next year IMO. Show us stuff that we can play this year. Show us

that the DS has legs. Sony isn't even garaunteed to show much on PS3, and quite frankley

I hope they don't. I haven't even bought a PSP yet. :(

Oh and off topic but how do I lengthen my posts horizontally?

Anyone who doesn't believe NOA execs know what is and isn't going to be shown at E3, the same E3 that's less than a month away, is a fucking moron.

Perrin Kaplan was one of the reasons why N-fans were so thrilled at Reggie walking up on stage E3 2004, and him handling the bulk of the PR since. "Oh my god... a Nintendo representative... actually TELLING us something!" There were some periods in Nintendo's history when the Jedi approach was amusing, but right now one hardly cracks a smile at, "Will we say something substantial about Revolution? We're not going to talk about how much we're going to talk about it."

You know, I've always had this vague impression that the role of a PR person is to state only the company line, always dancing around dangerous topics. Perhaps she's just a very good PR person?

But instead of dangling carrots in front of our noses to lead us, she usually just completely sidesteps the issue. While it's true that marketing is technically the division responsible for frenzying us into wanting a product (or at least more info about it), she grants interviews that end up just totally wasting the interviewer's time, and does nothing to keep the targetted readers interested. An interview that you start and finish without learning a single piece of new information is a waste of time. I'm sure IGN didn't interview her to just hear "No comment" from her lips personally, and while she can't just blurt out, "THE REVOLUTION'S GONNA BE COOL 'CAUSE IT'S GOT 12D!", using an interview to refuse to even say how much you're GOING to talk about a vague subject at a later date does nothing for anyone but disappoint.

Nintendo PR always sidesteps issues in order to keep the competition guessing.

No matter what happens, IF Revolution is at E3 it's going to make noise in the industry no matter what. That is a big factor in Microsoft and Sony's camp - they both take Nintendo very seriously.

bet you she knows more than you, asswipe.

Well what is there to know anymore? She already let the cat out of the bag earlier and revealed that it's "a gas to play"

The latest thing to reach me about this (believe it or not, I do have some good contacts within Nintendo) is that they are not going to show anything other than rolling demo footage. The Secret will not be explained at E3.
I believe NCL has changed its mind on several occasions as it struggles to nail down a launch period, which for the record is currently pegged for spring 2006 on Nintendo internal documentation.
This year's E3 is all about Game Boy Advance 2 for Nintendo.
