Persona 2: Eternal Punishment |Import OT| "I'll accept my punishment... but not now."

P1 has sixteen magic damage types (four damage types in four categories) and then and fourteen weapon damage types. This is too many damage types, especially when resistances are generally against the broader categories rather then the individual damage types (ie, strong versus Elemental or weak to Guns), making most of the abilities redundant.

Haha this kind of needless excess is one of the things I like about P1, people don't seem to mind it in Matsuno games!

One of the most surefire ways to get someone to learn how to enjoy Vagrant Story is to tell them to ignore the affinities and just keep a weapon of each blade type instead, because the affinities are too much to keep track of and weapon switching is a pain in the butt without quick swap.

That's about the part where they tell me, 'that's stupid. i don't want to play this anymore'

Was wondering when the OT was going to go up. Good Job CJ

Sad to see such a dim chance for this game to reach US shores, I enjoyed the first one for what it was and the only issues I had with it was the HIGH AS FUCK encounter rate NOT the battle system. Story as well as the characters was great and conversations with the demons during battles was interesting if a bit annoying. Ending made me feel angry, sad and wanting to see what would happen in the sequel. C'MON ATLUS!!

Oh and can anyone make a avatar of
Nyarlathotep as Tatsuya
? Would really be thankful.

I'll see what I can do, but it's kind of a spoiler. :p

First Kegare Joker down! On a brighter note, if anyone's interested, I'll see if i can cook up some spell translation resources. You'd be surprised how easy it is to read SMT spells in Japanese, since they're mostly written in the simple characters.

@Hecatonchires: You could always get the PSN version, should be a bit easier on the wallet.

But I'm a collector :(

I still have a heck of a time getting screenshots working on my CFW, so I can't do anything fancy with EP PSP as a base yet.

In lieu of that, my Soul Hackers resources should help you.

Honestly, if you know what the spells do(items are a no-brainer, you can tell from the descriptions mostly), you should be just fine. The toughest parts will be the Persona creation, since it's hard to tell what their spells are.

Getting the tarot cards is a cinch pretty much.

Mew Seeker's Contact Guide!

With that, it's easy to get any tarot you need from any demon, and make Sumaru City yours.

Did I mention how amazing the world map music is?

Okay, if a rumormonger wants to help me on this, I'd much appreciate it.

I'm sure those are the 'this shop sells [x]' rumors, and I want the most expensive/high quality rumors. Which are they?

That first one is casino rumors anyway, but you will need much clearer pictures if you want Japanese-language help with the kanji. That blurry mess is almost impossible to read when the fine details are important.

I was hoping the non-kanji would help enough to determine which are, say, Rosa Candida's or Clair de Lune.

Oh. In that case...

Parabellum
Rosa Candida
Toua Defense
Tony's Shop

Mu Continent is a real casino.
Choices: 1) slots are easy to line up, 2) blackjack has a high payout

You can win real stuff from Monthly Battlemaster
Choices: 1) win real weapons, 2) win real armor, 3) win accessories

Surprising wares at Toa Defense
Chioces: 1) apparently they sell special weapons, 2) apparently they sell special armor

Yep, between that info and this rumor FAQ, I'll be good.

The last one refers to Tamaki's magazine contest I believe.

Thanks!

Weird, I guess the 'this shop has really expensive armor' rumors aren't until later.

These arrange tracks are pretty cool, pretty much the complete opposite compared to the IS arrange songs. Does the original songs in IS and EP also show complete difference in style?

There's a lot of crossover between the two, but EP does have catchier tracks overall, I think.

I love Kasugayama's music in IS.

Bought PSOne Eternal Punishment on release day and beat it many years later. Not going to give up hope on the PSP version just yet, especially if a PSN only release could be possible, but then again I haven't read that XSEED interview yet. A shame IS did so poorly in the US due to hardware and being a niche genre/game, so even if this doesn't come to fruition I am still very happy and thankful to Atlus USA.

I found where the Tatsuya scenario is. It starts right after (Club Zodiac)
Joker Noriko
, at the Velvet Room.

So long, Sumaru Cinema girl, we hardly knew ye.

Talk to Igor, and it's the fourth option.

As Sartre noted in his contemplation on Hell in No Exit, the true horror is other members.
So now that the PSN release is done, there's no hope at all for a translated release of the PSP version, is there?
