They're releasing significant details about the game, I expect a release date soon.

Am I the only one who thinks they'll be cliché and release it on the date the game starts? I can't wait to April, the year is moving to slow.

I can only think that all this extra content must be in the down time of the game story from after the new year to the end of March. I hope there's an extra dungeon to show off the gang's shiny new evolved personae and awesome bike combat.

When I played P4 I always thought those 3 months was such a wasted opportunity to just hang out with the gang.
 
Man, I dig Persona stuff, but I would really be into another traditional SMT like Strange Journey. Found it hiding in a GameSpot last summer...between SJ and TWEWY, it was pretty the best summer ever.

Anyway, both games look pretty ace. And even though I'm not really good at them, I'm a sucker for fighting games with slick 2D arts and stuff.

lol, this is why I find it hard to replay games like Nocturne and Strange Journey, plus random battles (SJ handled random battles excellently though).

Not 100% realistically proportioned but they seem fine in those shots.

They barely resemble the anime artwork of the characters. Their bodies are shortened and shrunk and their heads are too round/large. There's nothing wrong with it, I just hate it.

It'd have to be, there isn't any way they could squeeze a bunch of winter events during December with the way events unfold in P4. Plus if they were just to throw loads of new events in without expanding the calendar it'd mean getting all S.Links to max in a single run of the game would be impossible.

I think the prospect of actually being able to play through some of those remaining months is going to be the most exciting part of P4G, with the way the gang talked about making the most of the remaining time before Spring it'd be nice to actually see that happen.

I doubt it will be. Having content there defeats the premise of the story, after defeating the True Final boss. There is definitely a way they can squeeze in that content, because there are tons of days in the game where you do nothing but go to school and go home (unless you want to do an available S. Link). It just doesn't see logical, to me.

You said "extra content" so you're counting EVERY bit of new content they have shown so far. Tell me. What would be the point of getting a new Persona after you've already beat the final boss and the story is essentially over? They'll find a way to add it in somehow other than that.

after the time skip but right before you leave Inaba, since the trigger for it is during the part where you say goodbye to everyone

AFTER the time skip? Holy shit, my memory is hazy. Haven't did a playthrough of P4 since last Summer so yeah lol.
If that is the case then I guess it is more than possible. I felt those unused months were kinda a let down, but felt that it went with the flow of the story pretty well. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Well they're getting better.
In P3 it was so jarring when you were in the dorm, the characters looked less than 4' tall compared to the rest of the set.


I hope Atlus has got plans to improve that damn fishing mini game.
That was the only thing that prevented me from maxing the game, due to never being able to land that final monster fish.
 
I'm close to beating P4 for the first time ever, and while the fighting game looks rad and the Vita version has cool new additions, I can't help but feel that I would rather have P5 soon :(

Oh well, I am excited to play the fighting game when it comes out here in NA.

Yup, those months were after the point that the group thought they had put an end to the case and were already thinking about the MCs departure in Spring. The true ending was a real last minute "Oh wait, we completely missed this", so it's perfectly plausible for all these winter events to occur when they feel the case is closed and are just hanging out.

Yep, you have to fight her in the final stretch. You have the max link event, go to the TV world for the final world, then you can go right back to Heaven.


And I must say, it was a hell of a fun fight. Took me three tries.



I love Strange Journey, but it was still kind of lacking.


And just what is Kaneko up to lately? Did the man retire or something?

I want Kaneko Works IV!
 
I am really not feeling the new Persona evolutions. They seem lazy to me since they are pretty much taking the basic shape of the persona and adding frills to them.
 
I am so glad to hear that P4U is coming out soon in arcades!

Maybe we'll finally get some more footage!

And once this comes out on consoles and I get to import it, I'll finally get the chance to use this image:
