I thought it was?I want the fighting game to come out on Vita!
I thought it was?![]()
I wonder about this - is P4U canon or something? Does it take place between 4 and 5 maybe?

It has a storyline that's positioned in a time period after the end of P4, anyway. I doubt anyone knows whether it'll ever get referenced anywhere else, esp. given that the story connections in the Persona series are minuscule at best.
Never put must interest in the fighter until now. Are they two separate titles, or is the fighter an extra mode on Persona 4 Golden?
I must have missed this, but has P4U been confirmed to be coming to the US?
I know right! Chie for top tier.
No but Atlus pretty much localizes anything Persona related so it will more than likely come out here.
The new P4 better let you be able to do this in the King's Game scene.

Thanks, and you know, I hope it stays this way. I liked that P3 and P4 are so different in story and tone. I would like Persona 5 to do the same rather than be like, the sequel to P4U and see all of the significant characters from P3 and P4 come together for an adventure or something.
Yeah, don't get me wrong I like the Persona 3 references in Persona 4 but the fact that those two games are in the same universe always seemed odd to me.
All of the Persona games are in the same universe. I honestly don't think the battle robots are nearly as weird as, say, secret sci-fi space Nazis.![]()
Yeah, don't get me wrong I like the Persona 3 references in Persona 4 but the fact that those two games are in the same universe always seemed odd to me. Even though Persona 4 is already pretty crazy, I find it really weird to think that there are humanoid battle robots in that universe.
Hell yes, my Chie army brother!
I hope that they keep the cross references to a minimum (ie. Persona 3 television program mentioning the characters/events of Persona 2 and Persona 4's Gekkoukan High visit). The newer Persona games are pretty tame in scope compared to the older ones which dabbled into progenitor theory and Cthulhu mythos.
Persona 4 took place in 2011, but when did Persona 3 take place? If P4U happens after Persona 4, I wonder how old Mitsuru and Akihiko are. I wonder what year Persona 5 will take place.
Trial of the Dragon 4 LAIF!
persona 5 when?
On the contrary! I hope that the next Persona game kicks things up a notch or two, and makes things as crazy as the original Persona games.
If nothing else, in order to make it so that when these various guys and girls clash in future Mayo games, it won't be so out of place! :lol
I wish people would stop posting that fan made soundtrack like that... Yeah, it kicks ass and all but it has nothing to do with P5.
Me too, I just don't want Persona 3/4 characters taking away from the tone set by the new cast. Cameos will do fine for me.

Yes please... crap like this is a dead giveaway. Hope the music sounds nothing like it.
I was thinking about that (or at least give us 20 somethings). I hope they go the university and college student route.

Why not just make it college and not high school?
I'm no expert or anything, but from what I could tell by living in Japan for a while was that high school is a little more like college than in the West maybe. It's sort of that first frontier for adolescent freedom.
Nonetheless, college is a great idea. As for your question though, maybe it has something to do with the demographic that the game is being sold to? I don't know, cj_iwakura may know more about this and the whole SMT franchise thing.
Let's just say that High School girls sell better.
3 and 4 each took place 3 years after their original release. So if P5 is a 2013 game, 2016 seems like a safe bet..you know..depending on if that arbitrary bit of logic I just pulled out my hat rings true.
I don't care when P5 takes place, so long as I get some more o' dat cameo action. Preferably Chie.
Speaking of high school girls... I wonder where Marie comes from? She's in Persona 4 Golden, and is seen in screenshots at their school. She's got Velvet Room imagery all over her... hmmm, mysterious.
Not sure where she came from, but if Vincent in P3P was any indication, then I know where she's headed.
Persona 5
I'd like a full on adult cast for Persona 5 like it was with Catherine
That isn't Persona. The defining trait of the Persona series specifically is that it's in a high-school setting with a cast composed in large part of teenagers (as opposed to other parts of the extended Megaten family that can really have anybody in the lead role.)
And the director interviews for Eternal Punishment explicitly noted that the game was designed to differentiate itself from the high-school theme with both adult characters and themes (especially since it ties pretty heavily into the P1 cast who were also then adults).
Right now.
Or some time this year

Great interview with the godfathers of Megaten, and Persona.
Probably one of the rare moments I actually decided to watch a director commentary/interview with any piece of media. And I actually watched it more than once.
Current MegaTen is still awesome, but Cozy and Kaneko just had a distinct, unique vision in the 90's/early 00's that hasn't really been matched since.
I always thought that when they revealed her they said she was a new party member with possibly her own dungeon like the others?
