Persona 5 New Trailer

I doubt it honestly. I would not be surprise to see more and better than this. :P

With how long this game has been in development at least slightly? You think they have time to greatly enhance the PS4 version?

I mean I hope so, but I don't think so. To me, a nice 60fps @ 1080p would be enough for me... but I'll settle for locked 30fps with no drops and 1080p

What? No, no no ... DDS was bonkers regarding difficulty, I never finished it, because I sucked (at that time :P). Wheras I totally rocked P3 on normal.

Yep, the problem with P3 was the fatigue system, but DDS (specially the first for me) were HARD. Never had to grind for P3 but I did quite a lot of grinding in DDS.

Both DDS are not SMTIII levels of difficulty either, but all in all the Persona games are the easy mode games in the Megaten universe.

I found it a bit too big. Its somehow sad that there is always a few guys left behind and then they are underleveled and you dont want to level them up.

Always worth remembering that in most Persona/SMT games, the exp gains scale, so leveling up underleveled people isn't nearly as bad as it looks at first.

Oh crap, I just noticed this:

The phantom descends onto the city before the explosion shoots up. That could lend some credence to him becoming his persona.

I liked the trailer. The glimpses of the changes look good. I hope the music isn't the main theme or the battle music. I wish that they showed some personas in action too. I hope they don't transform into personas. I feel like that would greatly limit how many personas there will be.

Did you play Persona 1 PSX? That was also pretty easy besides a potentially annoying final boss.

Persona 1 was wildly uneven due to the inability to even get cards from Demons until you were at their level. One of the worst mechanics in an SMT game, IMO. Also, the horrible save point placement escalated the difficulty in wrong ways.

Eh, it was harder than

- Persona 4
- Digital Devil Saga
- Devil Summoner 2
- Persona Q
- SMT IV (past early game)

I really disagree with that. Most of those at least had Hard modes, to boot. If we're comparing Normal modes (but why?), then I'll give you Persona 4 and Persona Q. SMT IV's opening is such a kick in the crotch that I wouldn't bump that lower. DDS is the one I'd actually note as an SMT with a single-difficult level, the one that is best-balanced. Lots of exciting boss fights. Devil Summoner 2 had a few rough boss fights strewn throughout its short length, like the Fiend battles. Devil Summoner 1 was easy, IMO, other than the last boss.

I don't think Atlus knew how to balance the new game formula for in Persona 3. Both revisions, P4, and P4 Golden added difficulty levels which helped out a lot.

I should note that Persona 3's last boss is my least favorite boss fight ever, so I'm just dismissing all of that Charm-into-Diarahan bullshit.

Persona 5 just shot way up my most wanted list after watching that trailer. I try not to let myself get too hyped up, but damn that looked slick. Looks like Atlus is improving the dungeons too.

Looks like all out attacks are still there so I'm guessing the press turn "one more" system will still be there.
Not necessarily since in Persona Q, for example, you have to boost at least 3 party members. This doesn't guarantee one though, it's just that 3 is the bare minimum. The more members that are in boost state by the end of the turn, the higher chance there is of an all-out attack!

God, I have watched this trailer like 10 times... this, FFXV and Xenoblade X make this year so awesome =D

It is great to see a developer who has the confidence to let the game itself do the talking rather than going on youtube constantly shouting buy our game or we stop making them.

Could this also be the intersection we saw in that first reveal trailer? Where the blue sparks appear and the MC is the only one noticing them? Maybe that's how he gets his Persona.

That's because they know we're going to buy their game. It's Atlus

Its funny how they learned from their mistakes.

Dungeons arent boring.
You have now more to do in dungeons (Stealth and stuff)
Smaller Cast
Interesting MC

The bolded is actually the the only thing that I'm disappointed in so far and I hope there's more that haven't been shown yet. P4G probably did have a little bit too much going on but that gave it some replay value if you didn't have enough time to get everyone's backstory done in the first playthrough. If we only have 4 characters in the group and one is a cat I really hope the stories of characters not in the group will be a bit more fleshed out.

I can't believe that Keiji Inafune really said that back then... some devs still care about the games we want to play. :)

Inafune is a businessman who cares about sales. In that sense, he wasn't wrong. Still isn't. At least, in his mind. Remember, he came from Capcom.

But it used time/days/money... time/days/money you could need to get your waifu.

I dont have anything against more Social Links. But focusing on a smaller group of people that are actually in your party is a plus for me. It also means the persona team can spent more time developing those characters instead of focusing that every character gets enough "screen time".

Didnt the director say that the Main cast is nearly batshit crazy?

True but Boosting came from Etrian Odyssey right? I think the press turn system will be back in some form.

... in SMT IV (And the older Persona games that nobody, even Atlus, remember) you have Melee weapons and Guns, the Guns are mostly used to inflict status ailments or attack weak spots while the Melee weapons are for regular attacks...

Sweet!! I have SMT IV on 3DS but haven't played it yet (and I loved Persona 4 Golden on Vita). Still stuck playing Pokemon Sapphire. :P

Dude I'm playing DDS1 for the first time right now (late game, around level 62) and I found it to be quite easy compared to other SMT/Persona games. By which I don't mean to call it bad. You should definitely go back and attempt another run.

A part of me really wants to, because I've matured a bit with all the other SMT games in the last few years, but I have also spoiled myself the ending for DDS and feel somewhat less inclined to try it again now :)
But still, I think the majority of Atlus fans think DDS is way harder than any other Persona game ...

So are people saying that they might be going the DDS route where you transform into your Persona? Hopefully if so you can still have more than one, though I suppose that would be a massive drain on technical stuff. Forgive me if this is obvious I've had really bad insomnia all week.

Also they count as types of attacks, so you had enemies that would reflect sword attacks but die to gun attacks and etc.

Depth!

I wouldn't mind a smaller cast because they never properly use a large cast in gameplay. I wish an RPGS that has like 7 characters but only lets you use 3 or 5 would have a final boss where all 7 fought because the boss was designed in a way to be so challenging that all 7 were needed.

Wow, that looks amazing.o.o I hope the PS3 version doesn't suffer, cause I probably won't get the PS4 anytime soon. So it a RPG/stealth game now, and it looks like the characters will turn into the personas or least has some form?
