I just got star to 9. When I'm in mementos now when I hit some monsters it instantly tells me I can't hold anymore masks. Is it because of this? What gives?
Until you
get to the green ones and realize you don't have any curse or psy moves
I eventually figured out the right one and brute forced him, only to learn its weaknesses later.

They're on the ground too, in the little caged diamonds. No fighting required.
But if you do want to fight, if you attack them from the front instead of the back, you won't insta-kill. The X action will change from "Ambush" to "Attack"
They are literally in the squares on the floor. You don't need to fight to get them. Edit: beaten
Basically Ryuji has an ability when you level up his Confidant to trigger an Insta win sometimes when you ambush an enemy.
Long story short, if you don't want that to happen don't ambush enemies.

So I'm pretty sure you can kill
Futaba's mom in the palace before phase 2. I used a damage reflection item on one ally before the dive attack and it took off 3,000 hp and brought her to 50% even though regular attacks were doing almost nothing. If you did it on multiple allies you could probably zero her hp
They are too low leveled as well. But apparently I can find them without fighting.
Yes you personally have to make them.

I'm near the conclusion of the 3rd palace's arc, having already stole the treasure, and I'd rather just keep slinking, fishing, batting, etc than go to dungeons and change random people's hearts.

I don't know, at that point it was definitely faster and more SP conserving to figure out who to fight rather than fighting all of them.
After the Anubis of the previous dungeon I don't want to risk losing progress unnecessarily.

Finally finished it. The ending didn't hit me as hard as P3 or P4. Regardless, it was an amazing experience.

Just finished 6/19. Why the fuck does this game hate Makoto so much?

beat the 4th dungeon. Great level design all around, and I even liked the boss. Made it feel epic.
I am so glad I read Neogaf earlier in the month. Now my Sun is maxed out with days to spare, and my Temperance/Death are lv 8 as well.
The music is not winning me over as P3/P4 but I still like it at times. I think Persona 4 had better dungeon themes for sure.

Anyone feel terrible about turning down the Empress romance?
I legitimately had a hard time not reloading my save and two-timing Makoto after seeing the DESPAIR from turning it down. The only romance with any real disappointment after the shut-down.

Finished up the platinum today.
This is probably my favorite Persona game, and will most likely go in my top 5 all time favorite JRPGs. Had a lot of fun with it, and if an enhanced version comes out later with more content would gladly pick it up and 100% it all over again.
Me. They nailed everything about that, from the animation to the facial expression on her model. I felt terrible.

Man Ryuji is really starting to get on my nerves. I want to like him but his character is such a fucking douchebag, it's my only complaint about the game so far. I'm in mid September

Naw, at the end of a confidant you can choose either a romantic relationship or friendship.
There's no consequence to going out with multiple girls aside from one scene at the end.
I didn't feel bad but I did notice that she took being friendzoned the worst.
Ok this isn't really a spoiler but I wanna point out a glaring flaw in design. The one thing I simply do not understand is why can I not be inside the Leblanc during day time ?
It makes no sense that the game won't allow you do do something that it previously used to before (and still does during the Sundays and holidays, although it doesn't let you come back into Leblanc without advancing time if you leave).
I want to play the games during the "after school" slot but I can't unless it's a holiday. Makes no sense because this is something the game allowed you to do before palace 4.

Yea one of the few wierd missteps. I made a habit of saving every morning so i can reload inside Leblanc just in case. Easily remedied.

The problem is bro ryuji in the social links is a completely different character from stupid douche bag Ryuji who appears in the main story. Ryuji single handedly is responsible for two of the worst moments in the plot (palace 3 and 5 spoilers)
fucking up and letting Makoto figure out they're the phantom thieves, then upsetting morgana where he ran away

Like he doesn't think about anything, just charges into everywhere, he's a dick to Mona, his testosterone level ruins every scene he's in (and I'm a total perv), he only cares about fame and glory, and he's just a complete airhead.

For the record I think Ryuji is the worst character in any modern Persona game period. The fact people like characters in these games because of a Japanese va when they don't understand Japanese just baffles me.

Accidently letting Makoto overhear their conversation sure, but are you saying you don't want Makoto to join? 
And the Morgana/Ryuji fued started from the get-go. Morgana's insecurities caused him to become very vulnerable at that point of the story and thus couldn't take the same kind of thuggish remarks Ryuji had constantly used the entire game in that moment.

Dudeeeeee...come on now. It's "after school", you are not suppose to be in school anymore.
Secondly, this starts happening from Palace 4 and onwards, you could enter Leblanc and play games before that just fine. If Sojiro being there was the reason then why were you able to do it before? This isn't even considering the fact (post palace 3 spoilers)
that you can hold hideout meetings at the same time. (Basically you lose the ability to enter Leblanc during the day when your room becomes the hideout, and it makes no sense because on holidays you can use your room as both hideout and just as your room)
Thirdly, the thing you mention in spoiler (post palace 6 spoilers)
is exclusive to the last palace and moreover why would it be weird for him to be in Leblanc after faking his death? Shouldn't he instead stay home for that exact reason? I mean that's exactly why he doesn't go to school during that period and why Sojiro doesn't let him leave Leblanc during the day for a good couple of days.
