Persona 5 TGS trailer

Looks pretty good. Bugs me that his walk cycle speed vs his movement speed are so off. His feet are definitely sliding and not planting on the ground.

After all...

I've never played a Persona game before but im interested in trying. Which game would you say I should start with? Thank you.

What consoles do you have? Ideally I'd say Persona 4 Golden (Vita/Vita TV) is the best thing out and would hold you over until Persona 5 is out.

Persona 3 FES (Available on PS3) has the better story and party members and P4:G/P4 (available on Vita/PS3) has the better battle system.

Can't say I agree on P3 having either the better story or party members, but I can agree on P4 having the better battle system. And I say this as someone who started with P3 and bought that game twice (the original and FES).

I agree with your assessment.

I'd start with 3. Especially if you have access to a Vita or PSTV, because the fusion inheritance in P4G will spoil you, and it's hard to go back after a taste of that. There are some other refinements in P4G's systems that will make P3 feel pretty rough if you play P4G first.

I do all my P3 replays with P3P on my PSTV (it's my persona machine basically), but you might enjoy the more elaborate presentation of FES as a first time player. I mean, both versions are great and worthwhile

It's 2015. Not all players are forgiving of dated mechanics. Persona 3 is a great game but with Persona 4 Golden being the best possible entry and the regular Persona 4 being on sale for 2.50$ this weekend... I'd say either of those are better introductions. People can always go back to P3 when they know what P4 gave them and know that it's worth overlooking the pacing/Tartarus/fusion system/etc. for the package as a whole. Losing a good amount of progress because of a game over (which happens frequently even early on in P3 on Normal for a first timer) can turn someone off the series.

If you have a Vita or PSTV, get Persona 4 Golden. If not, consider buying a PSTV on the cheap (they're easy to find by now). If still not an option, get P4 for 2.50$ during the flash sale.

I say start with Persona 3 as well. I agree that P4G's streamlined mechanics will spoil you, where as if you go into P4G after playing 3 you will probably feel like a well versed player that will get the most out of your first playthrough.

Thanks for the advice. I just got P4 on PS3 it's my first persona. Now if only PSN wasn't as slow as snail mail.

I think you mean depressing.

I get what you mean. It's incredible how he doesn't even have to undo some of his drawing steps. The only thing that cheers me up about my own art is that Soejima is significantly older than me and I hope that means that I still have a chance to get a lot better.

Why cant I watch the staff video anymore? :/

Yeah I can't find it either. It had 3 songs and some nice footage.

By the way, this probably has been mentioned somewhere but this part
seems to be kind of later on in-game due to the date being 8/8 and it shows the character with the fox-tail, does seem to have a female build but I'm unsure.

The fox tail is the blue haired guy.

Wait, has anyone posted the full translated list of Persona 5 voice actors here? If not, here:

Such a great seiyuu line up. A lot of recognizable voices and talent going into this game. It's cool that Sugita voices a character, I think he's actually a fan of the game if the Persona episode of Blazblue Radio is to go by. Also praise the lord Mizuki Nana voices Anne.

Some other stuff. Rina Satou and Yuko Kaida's voices are recognizable in the trailer. The second female voice in the first part of the new trailer is DEFINITELY her. I've watched enough Scientific Railgun to know that's her voice.

It sounds like Yuko Kaido voices an antagonist of some sort? Her voice clip plays when the protagonist is first shown in cuffs and beaten up in the chair. The one who asks "How can you steal other people's hearts? Answer me." I actually think she's a police detective, or something similar looking into the cases

Also I'd pay extra for dual audio. Just saying. God damn the seiyuu line up is sounding spot on right now

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you Tomokazu Sugita (voice of Blue Jun) cosplaying as Yukiko.

The Japanese cast is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I really hope Atlus USA offers dual audio this time. Persona usually gets A+ dubs, but it would really be a waste not letting us experience the original cast this time!

I will forever remember him as Joseph Joestar. :P

P3 has better music as well.

Better story and better characters... idk about that. I think the chemistry among the P4 characters is far better and they have much better personalities. And about the story, P3 has a better plot and theme, but I feel P4 story was way more engaging, maybe because of the pacing and the characters.

Persona 3 definetely wins in music though. First time Memories of the City came up was one of the best moments of my gaming life.

Yup :/

I want to listen to the songs again. I love the last one. So moody. Does someone has a working link?

Best I can do is send you to 2:04:45 here. I'll try to record that later.

I don't really have a preference on music between both games. Both have amazing, varied soundtracks that fit their tone perfectly.

So, is White-Mask/Tanuki-Guy totally the "initally rival turned ally" of the game right?

Also, feels like this time party members will have much more screen time than previous games, even after you "solve their problems".

I'd say that P3's story is plot-driven while P4's story is character-driven, some have a preference for the former and some for the latter. P4 has better characters that are extremely likable and actually feel like a group of friends. The P3 cast outside of Yukari and Junpei were really unlikable but you could make a point that they were just dormmates and not friends. The P3 plot is overall much better although P4 has its moments. Both have really amazing soundtracks, P3 has Memories of the City and Battle for Everyone's Souls while P4 has Heaven and I'll Face Myself.

Thank you for the advice everyone. I'll take it on board. Thank you.

I'm not sure if there's a thread for this yet, but an animation project has been announced.

There's many P5 threads making the front page right now so it's a bit confusing but it was talked about here. There's also a thread for the delay and a thread for the new singer and the community thread. Five active P5 threads...

magazine leak has name for the 5th member (blue haired guy)
Name is Kitagawa Yusuke (VA:Sugita Tomokazu)
Different highschool from the rest, and the name of persona is Goemon.

This is the foxtail we saw from the first trailer by the way

Hate to be that guy, but source?

The last 1.5 minutes of this trailer are intense.

This is probably gonna be the most dramatic Persona game in the series, probably even more than Persona 3.

Hype!
