Persona 5 TGS trailer

Presumably, since people are saying that her voice is the first female one after Morgana's which can be heard in the trailer.

I should watch the trailer again.

Also, I love Ikue Otani as Pikachu and she sounds amazing as Morgana, but my god my brain just can't process that she's also this annoying son of a bitch from Detective Conan.

I knew it was Sugita I heard... Such a great VA lineup. It hurts that we will probably never get dual audio on this. I really hope Altus will let it happen but after the farces that happened with P4A/P4U and their fear of reverse imports, I am not holding my breath.

Still not even an official EU confirmation. I would gladly take an EU digital-only release with dual audio

Rina's character is probably the next one that'll be revealed. Presumably it's a party of seven this go around, which is probably good.

I feel like Naoto could easily get lost in the shuffle towards the end of P4, at least as far as the story stuff was concerned.

I feel during some scenes Naoto was just there to be there. came so late in the game as a party member. Yet appears at random times throughout the game.

She's part of the mystery and is a good foil. And that stuff works, including her teaming up with them towards the end. I just don't know that she needed to actually join the party.

Less is always more. I would've been okay with 4-5 party members honestly, because their interactions and characterization would be that much deeper.

So who is carmen? I looked the name up and I just find like models and singers no stories about it.

We're thinking its Carnen as in the character from the opera.

magazine leak has name for the 5th member (blue haired guy)
Name is Kitagawa Yusuke (VA:Sugita Tomokazu)
Different highschool from the rest, and the name of persona is Goemon.

This is the foxtail we saw from the first trailer by the way

Is the VA the "deep and manly voice" heard at the beginning of the trailer when the party is fleeing ? I would be quite surprised if it's the voice for this character, I was expecting something more "introverted"...

He has the same voice as Gintoki from Gintama, so yes.

Interesting information, so he's Yusuke / Yuusuke huh.

With the long ass delay I hope they won't talk about the game that much between now and then, don't want everything spoiled like MGS5 damnit.

I don't have the spine for a blackout.

I thought that was the MC's voice. I guess it's pretty hard for me to distinguish them since both VAs have deep voices.

I'm told MGSV has almost nothing to spoil though! ;b

Her voice for Morgana resembles her Mitsuhiko voice most though. Although you can hear a bit of Pikachu and Chopper in there.

What is Sato Rina's "type of character" if she has one ?

Satou Rina has great range. She can do amazing tomboys (her characters in Amagami and the "A Certain Scientific/Magical" series), innocent airheads (Koufuku Graffiti), and somewhat more mature (but still kinda ditzy) roles like her character in Minami-ke.

Her voice for Morgana resembles her Mitsuhiko voice most though. Although you can hear a bit of Pikachu and Chopper in there.

I don't particularly agree. Her Morgana voice is pretty clearly feminine. She has the bratty know-it-all schoolboy voice down with Mitsuhiko. Any way, I hate that character but I love how talented she is to pull it off.

it really depends on the game I guess.

This is one of her works

kinda tomboy tsundere

But she does other types as well, like quiet/calm adult type. Wide range of characters. So we will have to see on what character she gets to play in P5.

Man I hope Yuusuke says 'And your next line will be ...' at least once in the game. The VA list is looking so damn good that I'll take JP VA with English subs as the official localization instead of dubbing if they don't do Dual Audio.

Shh. In my mind it's Carmen Sandiego. Red outfit, etc etc.

By the way, is Zorro a public domain character? I found conflicting info on it, and it seems like it could cause issues if he isn't in this case.

Kinda sorta. There's actually something of a legal debate going on right now over it, but apparently the line is that his earliest works are in the public domain.

Nintendo ran into the same problem in Codename STEAM where instead of Zorro they created a daughter for him called The Fox.

I am now even more positive that the Deadly Sins theory holds true for the characters.

Though there's probably some of that I'd have to revise with PV03, like the footsteps point.

Oooh, good catch about Pride, never thought about that one.

I hope Ryuji does his sin justice. Greed in Fullmetal was so good.

I've always been on the same page with you on this. It's some good analyzing.

I first thought of the Carmen character by Bizet because I was taught that story at one point and it makes a lot more sense with the whole "take your heart" theme than Carmen Sandiego (seriously, there's no way it's her).

I do think it holds.

But...but..: Carmen sandiego would be so awesome ;------;
Opera Carmen it's a gipsy, that fits Anne too, because of the 1/4 american thing :/

Any good detective story needs a detective. Naoto is a straight up hero of information, repeatedly parsing the plot's complexity and figuring out the right move. I feel Naoto serves the most essential role in making the story work. Without a gifted detective the mystery couldn't have been as complex/interesting as it was and still credibly be sorted by random high school kids. When the plot worked for me on the back third it's because I felt like Watson to Naoto's Holmes.

Naoto is my favorite character in Persona, edging even the inimitable Mitsuru. But I agree that the character's integration with the more high school related, mundane plot can be a bit awkward.

during the scene with them running off the pyramid i noticed another party member with brown hair. turn speed to 0.25 and pause on 18 seconds into the video.

cant tell if female character or not though

Well, this will be the closest I will ever get to a new Goemon game. Weird how much Kitagawa looks like Jun from P2 though...Soejima worked on P2 alongside Kaneko, so he must have liked that design quite a bit. Not that I'm complaining, the P2 influences are neat.

99.9% female, you can also hear another female voice during the first few seconds of the trailer, when they escape the pyramid.

I'd guess so. Or 8, if Morgana doesn't count as a sin, but a cat being sloth is just too likely.

Actually, I think the Sins may apply more to the hearts that the party is stealing.

The boss in the trailer definitely gave off Guttony/Lust vibes, and I could easily see the dungeons in the trailers reflecting those themes as well (Museum = Vanity, Casino = Greed, etc.).

Granted, that doesn't exclude the heroes from also representing them as well.

It could always apply to both. Like an ironic point where people who represent Deadly Sins are trying to stamp out those of others.

Yep.
