Persona 5 Won't Be Out In North America Until February 2017

February 14th 2017 release date aside...

I don't know how to feel about the changes for the special edition. It essentially swaps out the 20th anniversary 5-CD album for a School Bag, Morgana Plush, and Steelbook.

Assuming I can get the 20th Anniversary Album separately/digitally, I actually kinda prefer this bundle. Everything else remains the same.

Still, that soundtrack 'sampler' is a bit of a let down; also, ya know... 2017.

Yeah, OSTs excite me much less than more unique or interesting things like the plushie and school bag. Still, I hope they release it digitally somewhere.

Thanks. Got the steebook, and saved $12! I guess Amazon is still having a sell for Prime members. Total was around $51.

Yeah, prime members get 20% off for preorders and within 2 weeks of release seems to be a permanent thing for now. Maybe to compete with BB's card system that does more or less the same thing.

There will always be a digital release somewhere - whether we can pay Atlus for it is another thing entirely.

It seems as if the P4DAN CD was a fluke, and they only know how to release sampler CD's in the west.

have you never played a persona game

like ever because that isnt new

Would still be neat if they included the Japanese audio as an option. While I would play w/ the dub on my first playthrough, I'd definitely like to play w/ Japanese audio for new game+ to see what it's like.

I'm assuming it's easy to cancel on Gamestop? I'll order it from there first, then switch over to Amazon assuming they get more.

I preordered the steelbook edition at amazon, but I am still super pissed that they put the CE up before the west coast even woke up. That's beyond fucked up when the stock was obviously so low.

Best Buy, don't let me down. Please.

Sucks about the delay, but it gives me time to play FFXV and others.

Pre-ordered from Gamestop to be on the safe side. Had no idea they had a pick-up in store option, so I used that to avoid shipping costs. Still going to check for Amazon or Best Buy though.

Are you fucking kidding me? I step away for one hour to do some stuff and it gets sold out!?

Fuck it, I'm preordering the Japanese deluxe set now.

They'll restock it. Just keep an eye on the page and/or thread.

I hoped for earlier and expected later, so I guess this works out. I think I'll just avoid Persona 5 news until February, then; I really enjoyed going in fresh on P3 and P4.

I guess I could get the Japanese version...

I'm fine with Feb 2017. I expected it. Also gives me more time to beat Persona 4 Golden and possibly play some of the spinoffs like P4 Arena Ultimax which I got through PS Plus.

And don't worry about Horizon being so close. If all of the other PS4 exclusives are games to go by, then Horizon will be late March or early April ;)

Hardly surprising but still sad.

Totally missed out on the Premium Edition going up on Amazon this morning, but honestly outside of maybe the artbook nothing in there does anything for me. I'm a sucker for steelbooks and artbooks but that's about it, I don't need figures or bags or whatever so I just pre-ordered the regular launch edition which still gets me my steelbook and with the Prime discount it's only like $50.

No, they'll probably reveal the English voices in a trailer next week (maybe at Sony's press conference)

I'll be shocked if they already voiced something like 8 months before release. My money is on this game not getting time at Sony conference at all that's why Atlus revealed the release date before E3.

Hold your horses - Hardin has confirmed there are no limits for premium edition preorders - it'll be back 'in stock' soon.

I already had half a mind to do so because of the series OST and the 5 months wait; this kind of just sent me over the edge...but alright, I'll sit tight for the week.

better than TMS skipping the dub altogether

Not having an option is always bad, but personally I'd prefer them skipping the dub over having no Japanese voice-option in Persona 5's case.
If the game was set in the US and the characters were American, I'd prefer having a dub.

Completely up to personal preference, and I don't think this is the thread to argue about that.

I wonder if there's even sliver of hope for Japanese audio DLC.. Can't imagine myself playing this with dub at all, good thing I have the 20th anniversary edition coming but I have a feeling it'll have some hard kanjis so won't be the smoothest experience.

there is really not. Atlus did that survey where they asked dual audio or extra pack in goodies, and basically no one gave a shit about dual audio if it meant a sound track sampler or a steel book was on the line

I'm alright with this. I didn't expect Persona 5 to release in NA this year, anyways.

At least I'll have something to look forward to on Valentine's Day.
