Persona 5 Won't Be Out In North America Until February 2017

Even though Europe is getting the rough end again, is there a chance we will still get a limited or premium edition ?

Depends on who will eventually publish it, I guess...
NISA released the P4D and PQ LE here, but since NISA won't publish P5, we'll just have to wait.

No mention of dual audio on the story pages makes me worry for this release.

I would be really surprised if they announced Dual-Audio at this point, but maybe there is still a chance?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Aw man .. was hoping it would drop this year :(

Oh well .. as long as they commit and release the PS3 version in 2017, i'll still keep the old horse alive.

Not surprised. If P5 actually released this Summer in Japan, NA probably would have gotten it in December. OH well.
I'm guessing NieR will also be 2017 :(

Was that ever even confirmed for this year?

there is your reason

Glad someone else actually used their brain.

I spent the first half of this year ignoring P5 completely so I wouldn't be constantly sad that it still isn't out yet. Then they draw me back in with that recent trailer only to fuck me over with this delay a few weeks later. Fuck Atlus.

Not even gonna bother keeping up with it anymore. Just gonna buy a digital copy whenever it comes out.

Since the game actually is making 2016 in Japan, I assume they just need more time to work on the localization. That and avoiding September's elephant in the room.
Yeah they never said it wouldn't be 2016 in Japan. They just announced a US release date, which was never announced with a 2016 date.

Lol Valentine's day :D
Not too surprised about the delay. At least I'll play FFXV this year.
Unfortunately the reality is that Atlus is not a big publisher able to make worldwide launches. Europeans will have to wait until the end of 2017 to be able to play the game "officially" and it will still be in english only...
But the most important thing is that the game delivers so I'm really looking forward to see the reactions to the Japanese release in September.

Is that supposed to be a burn or something towards Atlus? lol.

Ordered from Gamespot, $30 to ship to Europe...
I hope it gets here fast once they ship it.
What was weird though was that when I tried to use paypal it said that the retailer wouldn't ship to my country but with the cc the order went through.

Expected, but still disappointing.

Still waiting to hear that the NTSC version is region-locked and us filthy Europeans can't even import, though.

Eh, I can wait. Honestly if this and FFXV went head to head my time would be stretched very thinly (and I'd mostly end up playing P5).

Well, if there is it's really slim. I guess there's hope for PS3 getting undub patch but that would require Homebrew PS3.

You should know by now that Atlus doesn't do dual audio.

They've done it before and do it for some games they publish/localize, so why is Persona so different I don't understand..

This is sad news! I was hoping it would be dec 2016 the latest. At least we are getting it now...the hard part is to decide which edition I want.

That's earlier than i expected. When they revealed it would be released in september in Japan, i had no hope for a 2016 western release. Not a problem though, lots of games to play meanwhile.

Man, I always thought that was a 2017 game since it was announced but, then again it got a lot more footage lately.

I hope I am wrong.

IIRC the NA/Europe Square Enix sites have it as "TBA", but the Japanese material so far has continued referring to it as "2016", so it's probably a late 2016 release there with a chance of it slipping worldwide.

2017 is the new 2016.

This actually has been a good year though.

Sorry, Persona, Horizon New Dawn wins. I hope No Mans Sky is as good as I hope cause now it's the only game I'm looking forward to this year.

They said in a Famitsu interview a few weeks ago that they are planning to reveal the release window during E3 so I expect some news in the upcoming days. Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito were teasing a new trailer today on Twitter as well.

Might be the first game I'll ever import from the US.

Depends on if were ever getting an EU release date.

Happy there's a release date at least. There's no shortage of games to play. Both Horizon and Persona in Feb. Wonder when Mass Effect is coming...

I'm not really surprised. I mean, I'm a bit disappointed, but I didn't think it was going to be out until near the end of the year anyway, so a few more months isn't terrible.

Plus, this means that Amazon preorders will probably be open near the end of the year when I'll have Prime (or a Prime trial) anyway for holiday shopping. Having that extra 20% off will be nice.

No? It means the day it's "actually for real this time finally out" I'll give them my money then instead of fucking about with pre-orders when it very well could be delayed again.
