Peter Moore facing the fans on G4?

Wow has there ever in our industry been damage control of this scale?

You fools. They wont be live questions. This is G4...where they script the phone calls!

Damage control ahoy

"The next generation is here and, no, you can't afford it."

Ken's already told us to get an extra job, MS' has the "real" system coming in at $399.

Man are they trying to tell us something? I just don't get it?

;)

There's a thread on the G4TV message boards which says Peter Moore is going to call in on Friday night and answer fan questions about the pricing of Xbox 360. I wonder if it will be more informative than Allard's chat? It says you can post questions for him.

you are making it sound as if he's doing the interview soley to talk about 360 pricing or something, so everyone is saying "damage control!"

actually he's just promoting the 360, etc. standard stuff, why is it
"damage control?"

You can ask about x-box pricing, what differences there will be with gameplay with the core system... um, other stuff.

thats just some suggestions for questions from the topic starter. it isnt the entire topic of the interview

MS clearly is in full scale damage control mode.

They need to get stuff for their core base of current xbox owners to cling to because the 360 base support seems to be crumbling.

This is the kind of thing they need to leave alone. It's done and unless they plan on reverting back to a single SKU, nothing they can say will satisfy the fans that are upset with their decision. I think it could even get worse if they come off as patronizing or keep undermining their hardcore audience like Nintendo usually does.

Ditto

when you have almost 2000 people in a chat room wanting questions answered along the lines of "why are you doing this?" and "what is your reasoning for?", then you have damage control to deal with.
When you get PR stooge #2 having another 'public interview' less than a week later, getting similar questions from people, who are more or less still confused, you still have lingering damage control.

'Promoting new product' is showing games and bragging about industry hype and presales- not pulling every PR head out of the woodwork to try to calm confused consumers down.

Do you make any posts that aren't anti-Microsoft trolls?

At the end of the day though it is still looking pretty bad. MS's showing @ E3 compared to Sony's was weak now this. They better hope they come off better at TGS. Then again they are on *gasps for air* Sony's turf [/whisper]

FUCK GUYS! Come on, lets invade the G4 boards. They're asking all softball questions. Let's try rto throw Allard a curve for once.

They're asking shit like "If I buy a core, will I be able to buy a hard drive later on"

" Seeing as to how the PSP may be able to hook up with the Xbox 360, will there be any kind of "connectivity" aspects to Tiger Electronic's Gizmondo system, which Microsoft is officially backing with gaming software and operating hardware?"

Being a caller 3 times on G4, I know how the system USED to work. I think they actually have some people call a number now, but in the past, if you posted a question deemed worthy, CaptImmy would send a PM and ask a few more questions like your real name, age and phone number. Then if all goes well, you get called about 20 minutes before your question is asked and just wait on the line a while.

That was on G4TV.com, so it wasn't live.

In MS's defense, they have now assumed the role of pace setter by going first. AS a result, they need to be the ones to prep (read: lube-up) the target base for the new, higher pricepoint. Damage control it may be, but if it lets them stick it in a little slower without complete rejection, then mission accomplished. PEACE.
