And, while Americans trust information from climate scientists more than they trust that from other groups, fewer than half of Americans have “a lot” of trust in information from climate scientists (39%).

A minority of Americans perceive that the best available scientific evidence is driving climate research findings most of the time. And a roughly equal share says other, more negative, factors influence climate research.

People’s trust and confidence in climate scientists varies widely depending on their political orientation. Liberal Democrats are much more trusting of climate scientists’ understanding of the issue and disclosure of full and accurate information about it. Republicans, particularly conservatives, are highly critical of climate scientists and more likely to ascribe negative rather than positive motives to the influences shaping scientists’ research.

The sad thing is, that for a lot of them, NOTHING will change their mind until it affects them personally. A good example is that one woman who was anti-vax, until her child got sick and that changed her mind real fast. Same thing with Obamacare, they were so against it, until it benefited them and now they really support and are glad they have health care because it literally saved their lives.

So this climate change stuff? It is already almost too late as it is, and people still don't think that it has scientific basis. Fucking idiots, every one of them. Kind of makes sense that Trump is the republican presidential candidate.

As someone who grew up in the American school system, I wouldn't blame the K-12 teachers for not including this in their curriculum. The subject has become highly politicized, and like all politics, most teachers don't want to touch that shit with a ten foot pole, no matter what they personally believe. They're already overworked teaching to whatever state standardized test that gets pushed on them, they don't want to have to deal with angry, ignorant parents on top of it.

We need the republican leaders to get over themselves and stop sucking the cocks of natural gas and coal industries who so desperately want to cling to their dying resources that they'll deny actual science and blame everything on a liberal conspiracy. Once they acknowledge that climate change is a real, tangible thing that we need to do something about right now, the other half of the country will slowly accept it.

1. Not everyone in the nation is going to be properly educated to make a valid opinion on every issue.
2. Every time a debate or conversation about Climate Change is on the news they always have 2 people debating. When you'd be far less likely to find a climate change denier than a scientist who can read CO2 levels.
3. Global Warming though a fact gets promoted by conservative media sources everytime it happens to snow despite the rate in which glaciers are melting.
