Those HDTV 720 vids really demonstrate the power of the next-gen. Not from the actual content, but by the fact that they bring a lot of PC's to their knees (Athlon 2000XP / 1 gig RAM in my case) just by being a video file. Imagine how shit powerful the new ones must be to chuck all that shit in realtime at 60fps.

720p at 60 fps is really demanding in term of bandwidth (RAM -> CPU -> GPU Framebuffer)

Thankfully, all three of my PCs have no trouble with these videos.

The 3.6 GHz P4 (laptop) makes sense and the 3.2 P4 (desktop) should not either. I'm suprised that my 1.7 GHz Centrino mini laptop can handle these perfectly, though (even at reduced CPU speed to conserve battery).

My guess is that the Sonyers who were all so cool enough to show up in that thread and make fun of the game for not being 60fps, are the same Sonyers who will show up in this thread professing to not give a shit.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice this. Bleh, if vegas is in PGR3 this should be another boring city to drive in like Chicago in PGR2. Yeah I know some people liked Chicago, but for me it was the worst city in the game.

i think they'd be doing it strickly as a showcase track. wet streets, night lights. the stuff thats NOT on the strip is pretty fun driving. downtown and the freeway portions are cool.

I have 2.53 Ghz P4, Radeon 9700, and 1 gig RAM and the video is choppy. For some reason all the ones that MS puts out run really poorly, but the ones by other companies are fine. DOA4 trailer ran at full speed with no issues. So does Terminator 2 HD.

Can someone make one at 60fps, 640x480?

Well.. 1.4 is asking a little too much..

Everybody that has a faster than 2ghz computer and is having problems... i'd consider doing a virus/spyware/adaware scan...

Something is not right with your computer.
Either that or you only have 128 mb of ram and are running windows xp or something...

Edit: Tried it with Power DVD and I was able to run it at full speed w/ sound.

As much at it pains me to admit it, this game actually looks good.

It was a slideshow on my comp, but for some reason Power DVD can handle these clips. The audio skips, but the video runs at full speed.

I've got an Athlon 64, 1 gig of ram, and an X700 pro and it runs as smooth as silk. You should not be having problems.

ya... it's amazing how much the little details are brought out in the HD trailers, compared to the low res. ones ....... after I watched the DOA4 HD trailer, I remember it seemed like I could see things that I couldn't see in the low res. ones...
