This game is going to own. But yeah, Atlus and NIS have some weird deal where Atlus is handling the localization and distro, but NIS is handling the marketing and press relations. I guess it's not that weird, but they just sent out preview builds so I'm looking forward to it.

Thank God. Fresh-from-Japan operations tend to use All-your-base types of translations for their gateway projects.

So, wait, is Laharl the main character in Phantom Brave? Is this game a true sequel to Disgaea?

Different dude, but N1 is apparently going for the whole "if Final Fantasy can have series familiarity through similar looking characters, then so can our games" outlook.

It's not Laharl, that guys name is Ashe, he's also not the main character. The little girl by him (Mirone) is the games main character. It seems like a sequel to Disgaea in terms of gameplay, but the actual story is quite a bit different.

Distributors don't necessarily put their logo on the products they distributor. Logos are mainly for developers and publishers.

The reserve SKU in the Gamestop computer changed from "Phantom Brave" to "Phantom Brave Limited Edition" about a week ago. I hope the LE gets a nicer box too along with the CD.

Well, Nintendo stuck their logo on all the Square Enix and Rare (published) games they distributed (FFTA, Sword of Mana, Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark, etc). Also, THQ stuck their ugly logo all over those Sega GBA games...

fuck...for three years we get zilch, then we get bombarded with rpgs...what the fuck!
i frankly just dont have the TIME to play these nowadays...geeeze...

Hey, it's not our fault that Nippon Ichi's artwork between their SRPG's is extremely homogenous. Give Laharl a haircut and toss a jacket on him, and you've got Ashe. :P

Besides, I thought there was supposed to be a moratorium on insults like "asshole" and "retarded" on the forum nowadays. :P

and the ears and the eyes and the height. Sure the style is similar its the same artist. but the design is totally different.

As for the retarded comment would "are you guys blind?" be better?

You could really stand to ditch the entire line of insult. And point well taken on the facial features, heh. Similar theme to the design overall, though, so the uninitiated may think it that way. Eh.

Takes all kinds.

Theme? Is blue hair and a scarf the overlying theme here? If thats the case then i can say that sudeki has similar themes to Return to Castle of wolfenstein because they have women with big boobs and little clothes. Or perhaps these characters share a theme with speed racer? He may not have blue hair, but hes got a scarf!

Youre confusing the artists style with the actual character design. Yes of course all his characters have a similar style, its that artists style, this is not something exclusive to this particular artist. When people saw knuckles they didnt say "OMG IS THAT SONIC? why did they make sonic red and give him dreadlocks????" Good character design is in the details, you cant go around judging character design on one or two obvious tidbits. Laharl doesnt look like a hero type(more like anti-hero), yet ashe does. Thats quite a big difference.

I wonder if this'll get a Euro release like Disgaea and has anyone heard anything about a Euro release for La Pucelle Tactics?

I really need to play more Disgaea. I'm thinking of hitting a guide for a bit of direction and focus 'cause right now I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by it.
