Phil Fish on Twitter:

"Let me tell you something: most indies i know already don't want to publish on a xbox console. publisher or no publisher".

"Microsoft doesn't care about indie developer".

"One thing MSFT doesn't seem to understand is that indie developers are the regular developers of tomorrow".

When microsoft's own turn on themselves, t'is a disaster.

or maybe Phil fish likes chatting plop and wants some limelight before he becomes irrelevant.

This is my favourite tweet from him, during the reveal:

Seems like he's not pleased with Microsoft's direction.

I could go the rest of my life without ever hearing another quote from Phil Fucking Fish. I don't care about any of the shit he's said, it just annoys me that people give him so much credence. It's like Pachter. I'm just sick of seeing people report on every fucking thing he says.

Whatever 'regular' development studio ends up with him on their payroll needs to muzzle him. The guy is seriously all drama, all the time. I see a thread title with his name in it and I'm already groaning.

Since it doesnt have any games can we call it XNone ?

Four thousand threads in the last 24 hours about how Microsoft dropped the ball.

Phil Fish says Microsoft dropped the ball.

Response in this thread: "Fuck Phil Fish"

:lol

It wouldn't surprise me if this was true.

But Phil still needs a good sit down, a good hug, and maybe a few trips to a therapist.

I'm really surprised MS hasn't joined in on the Apple/Steam indie scene, I think they'd be a great market for it especially with the direction they're headed

Hes not wrong, Cliffy B, Warren Spector, Richard Garriot, John Carmak, etc, etc were all indie developers at one point in time. Today they are some of the most revered, and respected developers in the industry.

Like it or not Phish, Notch, and a solid list of others are the next in line for that kind of shift.

I think he's right, but it's also kind of strange given that MS paid him for Fez exclusivity originally.
I think it's the other way around. I heard he actually paid Microsoft to have Fez be exclusive to XBLA... lol.
When microsoft's own turn on themselves, t'is a disaster.

or maybe Phil fish likes chatting plop and wants some limelight before he becomes irrelevant.
Given his crazy outburts every few months, don't think that is likely. lol

If anything, Indie Game: The Movie was a good advertisement for why you shouldn't work with Microsoft if you're an indie developer. Unless you're a mid-size (by indie standards) dev like Supergiant Games or Klei or someone like Valve or Ubisoft releasing CS:GO or Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, working with Microsoft is probably tough. Across iOS, Android, Steam, PS4 and Wii U there's honestly no reason to be on XBLA anymore.

Still holding a grudge because Notch got free patches for Minecraft?

Jesus, let it go dude.

Notch didn't get free patches. 4J Studios, the people who ported Minecraft to 360 got free patches. Notch pretty much had nothing to do with the XBLA port of Minecraft.

After the Fez XBLA clusterfuck I'm not sure how anyone can trust Phil Fish to be impartial on this subject.

It may very well be true but he obviously has a bone to pick with Microsoft, he's been pretty vocal long before the Xbox One was announced.
