I appreciate the compliment, but I'm not a sage... just been around the block a few times. Believe me - when it comes to raising/dealing with a newborn I'll be here asking PLENTY of questions.

But--but-but... your avatar!

I will say this. This guy was a mod in the PC forums at Nextgeneration and when every he blessed you with a post in your thread (or when he ventured out of the PC forums) you felt like you were special.

Yeah phoenix does seem to know about many subjects. Most interesting (scary?) is pentagon/military info... O__o If I may ask what did you study in college? Or probably more accurate how many degrees do you have? :D

My wife and I are expecting our first child at some point in April. I was going to mention it closer to the due date. But I guess now is as good a time as any.

In college I studied computer science and robotics. I've just always had a particular fascination with military technology/tactics/battles because they have shaped the world around us. My latest fascination is the war of 1812 and how the United States almost died a very early death at the hands of the British empire. When you look at all the things that had to go right/wrong in order for the US to survive the war, the outcome is amazing given the complete impotence of the US 'military' at that time.

Lately I've been working on my MBA/JD. I screwed up and ended up out this semester because I'm transferring to a new school (Emory)- which is why I'm around more now than I was at this point last year... and why I'm unfortunately very knowledgable about the accursed GMAT. Emory wanted a higher score from me.

Phoenix, I've got two. Youngest is six months old.

If you go to sleep right now and wake up when the kid is born, you might actually live through the first four months of its life with something akin to a functioning brain. Otherwise get used to random blackouts during the day, and going to mall mattress stores to nap.
