First tragedy, then farce.
You want to see a dorm that looks like a prison, check out Texas State in Sam Marcos.. the guy who designed its daughter evidently killed herself jumping out a window in collge, so the windows are little slits set DEEP in the wall, maybe a foot by a foot.

Thank you for this thread... I've been arching urban photos for a while and have been hoping to find general good sites to get new source material from. Here's a few places I've saved which I thought had good sets:

http://www.livejournal.com/community/urban_photos/
http://www.abandoned.ru
http://detroityes.com/Default.htm
http://cityscan.ru
http://www.livejournal.com/users/crispo/
http://www.livejournal.com/community/photopanorama

If anyone knows any good architecture photo sites, I'd love to hear them. I'll also get around and supply some photos of my own city here in the future, when time permits...

This is one of the coolest threads I've ever seen...always get a kick out of seeing pics of beautiful city and rural landscapes and skylines.

Time for me to step up...here are some shots of Toronto, Ontario Canada.

Aalst , Belgium.
Old laid-back city in Belgium of about 80,000 souls, famous for its carnaval and medieval town square. Place has a lot of character...

Oh right...that's Old City Hall isn't it? I always get those two buildings mixed up.

My dorms at my former college (University at Buffalo) were actually based off the plans to a Chinese prison... they were built in the 60's during the whole college riots, so they made it like a prison to prevent large groups from congregating.

These pictures are truly breathtaking (to me), I live in rural Pennsylvania and it's really boring and bland. Another conclusion I have come to is that the cities of Canada are absolutely beautiful. I really liked this thread and it has reminded me even more so that I want to move to a metropolitian area after high school.

Cool and I go to the same school so I know exactly how he feel. It makes me feel depressed when I look at these beautiful pictures. We don't have anything remotely close to any of those.
I would give anything to live somewhere like that.

You dont even see the bums and crackheads!

Yeah, but every town/city/village has them, you just got to see which places look best apart from that.
