I remember one time at school we had a substitute teacher and she made everyone pray at the start of class. Third grade.

It was surreal and I was confused.

(she goes on to describe how the bookshelf selection is a proxy for class differences, lol)
Also fixed bathroom carpet :O

I've never seen a single piece of reading material in any bathroom I've been in.

Well, I've seen it in Canterbury during my school exchange time some 15 years ago. The host (or head of the family) worked at the Kent uni, I don't think as a prof. though.
Some of my classmates back then made the same observation so coupled with the aforementioned book I assumed that it must be common in UK. Maybe it depends on the region/class?

Me and CHEEZMO are north-ish so yeah, must be a southern thing
South represent here. I think I've seen one book in someones bathroom, a joke book for them to read whilst on the toilet. But I wouldn't call it common by any stretch of the imagination. Certainly not this library thing...

Real talk, I'm a 26 year old dude that can't sleep soundly until all doors are shut in my room

Odd. It's the other way around for me. When I'm scared (after watching a movie or something) I need to open all doors and windows to be able to sleep. My rationale (if there is such a thing while irrationally afraid) is that I'd freak out if I woke up and found something in my room while the doors are closed.

I'm 34 btw. :/
