That's not the Marvin I pictured when reading the books... I guess this is how some of the more extreme Tolkien fans felt about the hobbits et al.

:/

It reminds me too much of

I suppose, though, that such a robot would probably look closer to this than how I pictured him when reading the book (several months ago). Whatever....the design seems fine.

I am so psyched for this movie. Just finished Mostly Harmless last night :)

I'm sure it'll be great; Adams himself did most of the script. I have faith.

Yeah. I kinda pictured him looking a little like bender. This design is alright though.

oh that he is, and a cool dude to boot, just not what i imagined when i read the novels. but im not dissapointed, rather surprised by the choice.

I think this Marvin may be a work of genius. One of the complaints a friend of mine had about the BBC TV series rendition of Marvin was that he looked utterly miserable. There was no way this could be a design for a robot with Genuine People Personality, the future of domestic androids.

This design does look like it could. But it also looks perfect for slouching and looking miserable. Done right, it could really look like something that was meant to be cheery and ended up miserable, and that's not an easy mark to hit.
