Pillars of Eternity Giveaway Thread

Wait, we can enter shagg_187's contest for all 20 codes if we send 20 PMs to ModBot? Wouldn't it make more sense if everybody who PMs ModBot automatically gets entered for all 20 codes, so we don't have to waste so much time sending PMs, and to prevent ModBot's inbox from being flooded? (Is there a limit to how many PMs he can have in his inbox at a time?)

it's the way modbot is coded. a PM is an entry. when you register a giveaway you don't register a pool of keys (though you can, technically, but it's a lot(as in you get all things on the same line), and not a pool)

Not sure if it'd help, but if you dont, sign up on greenmangaming and you can nab it for $33. If not, STEAM summer sale isn't too long of a wait anyways. I'm sure there's a backlog to tend to anyway, right? :p

ModBot automatically prunes old PMs as necessary--don't worry about the total number of PMs he gets. There have been literally hundreds of thousands of entries over the almost two years ModBot has been around. The entrance limitations are by design, to slow re-entry for things that are not on a countdown timer and to dissuade everyone from entering for everything--also to make it unambiguous in giveaways where you are only permitted to enter for one.

I'm still wondering how exactly ModBot works.

By the way, how does one create a new ModBot raffle? I checked out the FAQ section and I think I'm probably missing a thing. I have a key that I intend to give away...

you send a PM to Modbot with the title being "register X" where X is whatever you want.. I dont even know if you need that or if just register works

in the body of the message you put the game name - key and then on separate lines any rules you'd like to implement then you send it to ModBot and he replies back. you quote his PM and post it, voila... if you go to the steam thread's OP (in community) and ctrl-f modbot there should be a link with all the rules and a tutorial

This is amazing, thanks so much to everyone who is donating keys. I want this game badly but money is extremely tight since my Mom fell ill. So I seriously appreciate the generosity of those here <3
 
Wow pretty cool of you guys. I was going to wait to get it because I recently got BG2 Enhanced Edition and haven't finished it, so I had little plans of ordering it before launch..
 
I'm assuming that if you've won you should have gotten a PM by now? :P Never been a part of one of these raffles before.
