How did Pirates! do at retail? For the week ending Dec. 11th it was 10th on the NPD top 10, but I don't have any other data besides that. On the one hand it has the sid meier name so that implies it'll do great, but on the other hand its Pirates! and not Civ...

anyone know how it did?

PC is still getting a lot of software support but unless youre world of warcraft youre not setting any meaningful numbers.

Does Sid's name still carry the same weight it once did? I love Sid's games, played the orginal Pirates! a ton, played all the Civ games, heck, I even played the hell out of Sim Golf, but I just wonder if slapping his name on the box carries any weight with anyone outside of the "gaming" crowd.

I didn't pick up the new Pirates!, at least not yet. The one thing I was hoping it would have was multi-player, but alas, it was not to be. *sigh*
