Damn, so far that's great. The only act I'm not familiar with (and probably wouldn't go see) would be Sleigh Bells. St. Vincent live, mmmmmmmm

Last year they had atleast had Very Best, this year they have nothing?

I guess LB would be cool if you into that sort of thing but seriously.

Pavement is nothing? :lol

What a terrible opinion

Especially funny when he's championing an insignficant band like The Very Best. :lol

I agree. Not a fan of The Very Best, not at all.

Last year's Pitchfork will be hard to top. Matt and Kim, M83, Grizzly Bear, Beirut, Final Fantasy (Owen Pallet), Flaming Lips, Black Lips, Mew.... so good!

Man, as much of a piece of shit as Pitchfork is, they put on some good festivals.

Modest Mouse, Pavement, and LCD Soundsystem are "nothing"? wut.

Sweet! Found the thread. So let's turn this thread into a "who is going and wants to meet up thread." Most likely flying from CA, and the price of admission will still be cheaper than Coachella. Pavement, LCD Soundsystem and St. Vincent justify the price of admission already.

I'd consider it, if I could get a good deal on airfare.

I'd be flying from Boston, or New York if it's significantly cheaper to do so.

Yes, I'll add names in the first post of those that would like to meet up and as the fest gets closer, we can decide which day to meet up and what works best with the bands playing. Friday might be a good day as we can meet before the gates open at 3pm.

Well that's some bullshit. 3 day passes ALREADY sold out. I missed out. Guess I'll have to do gorilla vs. bear in san francisco or something. This is some fucking bullshit. Well I assumed they were just trying to gouge, but they are reporting that in one week they've sold as many as they did in 2 months last year. I guess I'll just have to buy them separately.

Ugh, I just found this out.

I really don't want to buy three single day passes, but I might have to.

I think a lot of people that bought tickets are just tired of getting gouged at other megafestivals like Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo and figured out that most of the same bands play here along with bands that will be big enough to play those festivals in a year or so. I think a lot of people got burned last year also with the 2 month sell out so maybe they just wanted to guarantee or scalp them. Either way....less than 10% of the lineup announced and already sold out. I think that tells you something about this festival compared to others....most people end up having a great time.

I know someone that goes to Northwestern that could probably afford the ticket prices and yet still won't go. So fucking infuriating. ASDKJF;ASKDFJ

I was also burned by the 3 day passes being sold out. I'm completely shocked. It took a while for last year's 3 day passes to sell out and, IMO, last year there were better bands announced right off the bat.

I bought Saturday and Sunday tickets. I'm not going to pay $50 extra just to see Modest Mouse, so unless there is a few more bands on Friday night that I want to see, I'm just going to skip it. Total 2 days cost me $95. :/

I fear the price hike on Lollapalooza tickets.

I got grudge sucked!
I saw pavement in 95 and I think during the Terror Twilight tour (White Stripes were the opening band). Pavement is a boring live act.

The full, final lineup was revealed today. Some great additions added...

Robyn, Liars, The Tallest Man on Earth, Wolf Parade, Delorean, jj, Big Boi, Major Lazer, Beach House, Neon Indian, Surfer Blood, and more. Check the first post for the lineup.

pretty lame lineup.
No way! I'm not even a P4k kind of guy and I'm in love with this lineup. I think its arguably better than Lolla's. Can't wait to see Big Boi.

Line-up is pretty weak. I want to go see a lot of those bands, but I would have to go all three days and there is no way I'm paying that much money (I know it's cheap, but I don't want to go all three days to see a small handful of bands).

Want to go see:
Liars
Sleigh Bells
LCD Soundsystem
BSS
EL-P
Panda Bear
Wolf Parade
Why?

Maybe I'll just pay for Saturday. Eh...

Also, Lolla line-up isn't all that great, either, but I'm tempted to go just to see all the DJs that are spinning.

Big Boi is a nice get (though obviously Andre 3000 would have been huge) and this explains why Major Lazer isn't playing Lolla. Overall, really solid lineup this year... though I'm shocked neither Chicago fest booked The Hold Steady this year given their lack of Chicago tour dates this summer.

They could possibly be added to Lolla. Repeats at Pitchfork seem rare so I see no chance they're a late add. I've got a 3-day pass to both so no worries for me with which day people are playing.

Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider
Did anyone stop by the photobooth where people were jumping? You should have, and come to this year as well.

Say Hi to me and take a cool photo.
