I hope there's more of these for other magazines in the future. They were such a core pillar of video game growth in the pre-web era.
Makes you miss the old days, the E3 coverage or CES was always the best issues. I really like how they claim they didn't cave to providing good reviews. The attention to detail and screen shots as well, it was much harder back then to get scoops. They also had to be somewhat accountable unlike today. I really appreciated the japanese games they brought attention too.
EGM and Gamefan, miss those magazines. Can't recall the name of the other big one that people loved.

Cool, will watch. I used to buy their mag.
It will be scary how fast these old publications will be forgotten. In 10 years it will feel like there was only ever YouTube and forums.

I haven't watched this yet, but it's on my list. Question for anyone who has watched it: is the current EIC (named Josh) in this doc at all? I hired him way back in the day for (I think) his first gaming journalism job. I've always been proud of him for sticking with the industry for so long.
