game is fun even though I suck :)

I don't quite know how to use the crossbow well yet... no idea what the drop off is and it's hard to tell where you're actually shooting. Basically seems like you either get the first shot or you run the other way.

I wish melee weapons were a little more prominent/useful as well. Outside of the first minute of the game I have literally never seen them used. I'm not even sure how you would balance that exactly either.

Unrelated, but I'm starting to doubt my choice of giant red afro a little bit. I'll keep it, but I'm guessing it does actually make me easier to see without a helmet!

4 hour / 13 minute mark me and fanboi vs lirik and shorty. I had no weapon and fanboi got both of them.

Do you guys see any sort of meta developing so far? I'm worried about a meta developing where there's always an optimal place to head to on starting the game. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens. It's more just that I like the randomness of it all so far.

I don't know if there is an optimal place but I notice a lot of people go towards the crates if possible at the beginning. Thing is that place turns into a war zone quick with so many people so don't know if you could say it's "optimal"

I feel that the game contains way more weapons then ARMA at least which negates a potential optimal starts meta I Think.

One thing I love about this is, imo, the polish to hit boxes and hit registration which make CQC actually fun and rewarding. H1Z1 completely shit the bed with those aspects so it felt like people consistently won CQC encounters either lived 10ft from a server farm or were hooked to an IV of aderall.

One thing I love about this is, imo, the polish to hit boxes and hit registration which make CQC actually fun and rewarding. H1Z1 completely shit the bed with those aspects so it felt like people consistently won CQC encounters either lived 10ft from a server farm or were hooked to an IV of aderall.
I haven't done any CQC since the beta, and even then it was only fists. I could never tell if I was actually hitting people since we were all flailing around. Has it changed since then?

Does anyone know what the developers being this are usually like? Are they sort that would be 'trustable' without Playerunknown? By that i mean their attitude about microtransactions and P2W and such, that's my main worry with this.

Random Information

  • Angled Grip= Vertical Recoil reduction
  • Vertical Fore grip= Bit of Both Recoil Reduction
  • Disconnections should be fixed, if you get them, go to the forums and post it
  • Ranked system is ELO based
  • First 10 minutes are meant to be looting based until you get to the blue zone
  • Cool mods may be added to the game if good
  • E sports will take some time but they want to make it grow organically, main problem is how a battleroyale scene would work in real life scenario
  • Seasonal Leader boards with ranks
  • Rewards for ranks are being thought about
  • Community made skins may be possible but there are more important matters and will take some time
  • Patch will be sent out every month
  • Putting all resources into optimization and stability
  • 35 people working on PUBG, 10+ programmers
  • Realistic elements are supposed to be focused on Gun play and such, fall damage is like this on purpose
  • Probable full reset on all stats on full release
  • 3rd person shooting is intentionally less accurate than 1st person shooting
  • Forums are the best way to reach out to devs for suggestions and report bugs
  • Bans(justice) will be distributed to the cheats on the form of Waves, which is believed to be the most efficient way of doing so

  • Vault Mechanic, Climb and such will be coming in the few months, Jumping will be entirely removed when it is introduced, which is expected to take 2 months(end of May)
  • Flash Hider will be useful since they will add some more light on gunshots
  • AUS Servers are coming and being set-up, next week for announcements
  • FOVs will come later on
  • Streamer Features will be coming
  • Grass are being worked on to make no difference in game play
  • Server stability will be improved
  • Positional Audio improvements over months
  • Server clunkyness is being worked on hard, expect a fix in the upcoming weeks/months
  • Foliage distribution is being worked on
  • footsteps on crouching may be a bug and fix is inc in the upcoming months

I don't mind a reset of the leaderboards on release but man, cosmetic unlocks are so slow, unless they overhaul the system, I'd hope those carry over.

Put a bunch of first person gameplay clips together. I don't think I've seen a streamer even toggle it on for fun.

It kinda gives you a disadvantage. Lower FOV and no peaking ability without exposing.

Can't wait for FP only server. Great clips.

Big fan of them gearing this game more towards Arma. Jumping has no place in these games.

Yeah vaulting and all that will be a much better system and cause less frustration when out bugs out. I hope they make it "dynamic" like the Ubi games in which you don't have to press 100 key combinations to vault :p

The real worry for me with Battleground is that the game is really not interesting for streaming on Twitch. Why ? Because the game is slow and we spend a lot of time looking for stuff ... So I think the game will work less well than H1Z1, mainly because it will not have a lot of ads on Twitch Thanks to streamers ...

What the hell! The game is intense and it's very fun to watch (talking about Lirik and Shortyy's duo)

And I've noticed gearing up is much faster in this game

Vault is just V in Arma. Opening a door on the other hand...

The game is more or less as fast as you want it to be.

As Sacriel put it
If you want to drop with 20 other people on the airstrip and deathmatch it up for five minutes, then you can. If you want to fly off into the distance and loot the edges of the map on your own, you can. What matters is that the final circle is always incredibly tense and no matter how badly your loot progress is at the start of the game, a single bullet can change everything.

To jump dodge shots, jump over fences and small things without stopping to vault, maybe few more things.

I dunno why would it need to be removed, just keep jumping and add vaulting on top of that.

There are plenty of reasons to have it. Other than it just making it feel less like your character is glued to the ground most of the time, the most obvious reason would be because of the jump-punch attack that's already in the game. Removing a feature that's already in the game and has no good reason to be removed is a strange choice.

Removing jumping means less H1Z1 style combat where people sprint, zigzag and jump while shooting. I'm really happy they're moving away from that. Shit like this is dumb as hell:

Hey so i just bought PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS and the first thing i noticed is the FOV and i could not find this information anywhere but i got help from a member of the BATTLEGROUNDS subreddit that showed me how to fix the FOV
1 Go to C:\Users\YOURPCNAME\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
2 Open the Engine file and paste the line below directly under the last line and save
[/Script/Engine.LocalPlayer]
AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV

Been sick for a few days and this has proven to be a joy to keep on the TV. All these top duo streamers are lots of fun to watch.
