I'd love that. But I think companies actually like the superior numbering thats why Xbox felt obligated to tack on a 360 at the end so it didnt sound inferior to PS3 by being called xbox 2

Very interesting. At the very least they are probably just promoting the brand as opposed to specific products because of the PS4 announcement, but I guess it could be more than that.

I hope it won't be called just "PlayStation" because Sony has so many different products that are called Playstation [something] that it would be confusing for the consumer.
And no, it's not like Apple's iPad situation, because the iPads are all pretty much the same machine (at least software wise), just different specs.
Microsoft could potentially call it just "Xbox" because they don't have "Xbox Vita" or "Xbox Mobile" or other Xbox [something] brand names, excluding the 360.

i've read somewhere that is going to take place in the "cosmic opera theatre" but can't find the exact place, and the info i found googling about the cosmic opera in new york all bring me to the hammerstein ballroom, the theatre where ECW took place :|

In an invite to PSLS, Sony announced that the PlayStation Meeting will be held at The Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center Studios in New York. Unlike an ordinary press event, which only has 20 or so journalists in attendance, this is going to be a huge event akin to an E3 press conference The Hammerstein Ballrooms website states that the venue can accommodate 2,800 people Reception Style or 2,200 people Theater Style.
The Hammerstein combines a magnificent, century-old former opera house with fully-integrated 21st century media and entertainment production technology. Recently restored, this elegant room features a hand-painted ceiling, ornate woodwork, and three balconies with side boxes.
Soaring 75 feet above the main floor, the ceiling holds numerous rigging points suitable for production lighting, sound, or set design. Integration with the in-house audio recording studios, television studios, video control rooms, and post-production suites makes the space an incredible venue for productions, special events, live or taped broadcasts, and webcasts or radio broadcasts.
Production possibilities in this highly flexible event space are virtually limitless. Events hosted in The Hammerstein range from international product launches and television awards programs to designer fashion shows and holiday parties.

Never said they will use Oculus Rift, I was just saying it would work well with something "like" an evolved Home. Their own headset thing sucks in comparison, nowhere near what the Oculus Rift achieves, it's a personal cinema not a VR experience.

Not exactly. The v2 prorotype showed at TGS (IIRC) has some interesting augmented reality functions.
I wouldn't be surprised if you found iPhones and iPads instead now.
