I have snuck around at work and watched the past few conferences Sony has put on and they all have left me completely let down.....that being said....Alot of signs are pointing at a PS4 and the sooner the better, gimme gimme Sony, ill still buy GOW:A, TLOS, and Beyond, just please put this long generation to rest so we can all be blown away again

Expect it to be called the "Next Generation PlayStation", which was the moniker the PS2 was given at the PlayStation Meeting back in the day, and of course Vita was "Next Generation Portable".

IGN said the event was in New York. That makes me feel less confident that this is truly a PS4 reveal. Vita was unveiled in Tokyo, as was PS2 IIRC. PSP, and PS3 were done at E3.

They also don't comment on rumors and speculation. They're a business, they'll say whatever is necessary to benefit them and give them what they feel is the competitive edge

- Sony has 3 big 1st party games still coming for PS3 (TLOU, GOWA, Beyond) with GOW less than a month after Feb 20th and TLOU less than 3 months after it. A PS4 announcement would undoubtedly negatively effect the sales of those games.

I don't believe PS4 announcement will affect the sales of those game. At this point, target audiences of those games should already have an idea that PS4 is coming and announcing it on 20th shouldn't change their decision to pick up those games.
