PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

I have a PS4 in the front room. It is my 'activated' system and I have PS+. My partner uses this PS4 also, but does not have PS+ (because it is my activated system, all users on said system reap PS+ benefits). This extends to multiplayer and downloaded games.

Here is where I need answers:

I currently have the Destiny PS4 bundle preordered and will use that system in a separate room (games I want, don't want to hog the tv). I want to play Destiny alongside my partner - is it possible for myself (using Destiny system) + him to use the main (activated system) and reap the multiplayer PS+ benefits, and play together using one PS+ subscription?

Basically, he would use the main and I would log in to the secondary system.

Answers?

Edit: We each would have a copy of Destiny.

Sounds good. I still kind of want the retail cart, but I'll probably double dip if NISA ever changes its mind about the dual pack.

Beware of spoiler. The more you wait, the higher the chance you will stumble upon one from god knows where (I still remember seeing one from Youtube thumbnail in recommendation section). Since 2 games are connected directly, I think you better just play it all right now while holding off FFX for a moment.

It's some kind of Layton / visual novel / crazy person interaction humor game right? I can always sell the game, but still, I'm not sure if I should order it (altough very tempting).

You meant despair. There is a reason Ryuukan said you will be very very tired.

Like, mentally tired.

sigh
sony is the worst at this store stuff. why plaster that banner don't eh front page of your store if the update isn't finished yet? i seriously don't get it.
how do they not have a system in place to push all updates at once

edit: dammit haha, you edited your post as i clicked quote

Lol. To be fair, I didn't actually click the link in your post until after I posted, so I assumed the sale prices hadn't been added yet. Granted there's still a chance these prices aren't correct, and I'd definitely wait until Sony puts out the Store update on the PS Blog before purchasing anything, but yeah, I shouldn't have just assumed lol.

Annnnnd it looks like I'm back-tracking on that not getting Danganronpa digitally thing. Getting a $20 PSN card this week. Can't pass that deal up. $30 and physical, sell it back for $20 after taxes and fees, I'm losing $10 to keep the game. Why not.

Any word on the new Dark Souls 2 DLC that was supposed to come out today? Already available on Steam, XBL, and at least one PSN region, I think Japan (because I've been summoned into the "common areas" and already fought a couple bosses).

It seems like PSN has done its weekly update but I still can't find it to download. And just when I got my heart set on diving into some new Souls content...

Really curious about the Danganropa love. Playasia has it for 23 €, so I'm asking myself if I should try it.

Trailers aren't too meaningful (and to be honest convincing). I don't really like to watch reviews or hour long gameplay-videos.

No chance this will show up on Plus right (I see Plus as some kind of demo service, if I like the game I buy it afterwards).

It's a visual novel that's kind of a Ace Attorney clone, but in a Battle Royale style scenario with dark humor.

YES!
YES!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!

For that matter, here's the JP cover

Do we know if the Mega Man X games are $6 or $10? I already have an MMX collection and MMX4 on disk, but oddly tempted to rebuy

High chance they'll be $6, but IDGAF, I'ma get both and throw them into my Vita, but by YSOP...I HAVE NO MORE SPACE IN MY BLOODY 64 GB!

Avoiding Dangan Ronpa spoilers on the Internet is tough. It doesn't help that the games are now several years old in Japan (the localized games we're getting are based on the HD collection, the original games were on PSP).

I've just avoided even looking anything up for the game. It's been hard ;__;

yeah... biggest % off I see is 50%...

sony, go home, you're drunk.

The actual % discounts are impossible to say because they don't list the regular price. They list the sale price for everyone and then the additional PS+ discount.

Something like Transistor is only $20 down to $13.50 even with PS+ but Ratchet and Clank I think is usually $30. So it's 50% off for everyone, another 50% PS+ discount from the sale price, which would be 75% overall. It's confusing for sure.

I believe you would, but I had a really hard time finding answers to a similar question regarding my brother who lives across the country purchasing a PS4. The way the website reads is that if a PSN account is set as primary for a PS4 system and has PS+, every account on that PS4 is able to play online as though they had PS+.

As such, having your regular PS4 with your account that has PS+ as primary, but having your partner logged in to their own account should let them play online. Meanwhile, the white PS4 would have a different account as primary, but if you are logged in with your account you would get your PS+ privileges and be able to play online. This is assuming you both have the game, it gets more confusing (if that is even possible) if you include game sharing in the mix.

At least, that is how it reads like it should work going by the FAQ, I can't guarantee any of that because my brother doesn't own a separate copy of any of the same games as me to check. Hope that helped at least a little.

Isn't Oli Oli cross play? Bought it on vita a while ago and for some strange reason its showing a price on PS4

I can't even find it in my download list and the ps vita version has the option to buy on the webstore now...I'm sure they'll sort it out, looking forward to trying it on a dualshock 4.

I appreciate the assurances! ^_^

We will both have our own Destiny copies (he gets the bundled game and I have the ghost edition). This game and the ability to each play together over a single subscription (2 systems) is the only thing keeping the white bundle preordered.

It's tempting to grab the white XBO SO bundle, instead - but if the Destiny multi works out (you described my exact intentions) - I'll get the white PS4.

If anyone else can shed light on this, I'd appreciate it immensely

First retail game I bought since Hatsune Miku Project Diva f (import).
Next physical purchase will most likely be IA/VT Colorful. :)

Edit: Yeah, I'm not too worried about Danganronpa spoilers. Even if I do get spoiled, there's a very low chance that I'll still remember it by the time I actually play the game.

I honestly lost hope that Danganronpa won't have a price slash when Disgaea didn't get one. I have no excuse now it seems. But I'm still playing SAO:HF...

At this point I can't beat my self appointed beat 15 games for 2014 (or atleast see the ending) due to the JRPGs.

HOLY SHIT.

I wanted to search for 'Olli Olli' on PS4, it gave me a list of the alphabet. So I clicked on O.

IT IS SHOWING ALL STORE CONTENT, MOVIES, GAMES, AVATARS, .. THAT HAVE THE LETTER 0 ANYWHERE IN THE TITLE. It will take me an hour to scroll down to Olli Olli.

In what world does that make sense? Why can't I just write Olli Olli?

Who designed this?

So I'm operating under the assumption nothing in this PAX sale will be free on PS+ in September because they wouldn't do that, right? Right?

Anyway, just bought Transistor last week but I don't mind because it is only $6 and was absolutely fantastic. Really annoyed that Child of Light vita didn't even get a slight discount, but what can you do. Might grab Trials Fusion but other than that I already have everything that I want.

Well it makes sense, story wise Disgaea 4 has nothing to do with Disgaea 3 so owning one wouldn't really affect buying the other. But from what I understand, you really want to play Danganronpa 1 before 2, so by putting it on sale they are widening the target audience of people who will buy the second game.

And of course when I manually trudge through their shit to find Olli Olli, it won't actually honor Cross Buy and forces me to buy it again, when I bought it day 1 on Vita. Great.

The original prices are listed on the blog post, the highest discount offered is 75% (Bit Trip Runner 2, Closure and Alien Spidey)

Shouldn't you be able to add "l" and narrow it immediately down ot anything with "Ol" in the title, then anything with Oll...and so on? Does this on PS3 and it's pretty nice for controller input. I thought PS4 was identical.

Blog post is up and of course they fail to mention Danganronpa is on sale. Oh blog team why do you never get anything right?

Question, if I download a game on my primary PS4, then log in on another PS4, can I play the game on the other PS4 while another account plays it on my primary PS4?

(does that make sense? My brother and I are trying to figure this out)

It just lets me choose from the alphabet, not type out words.. their SEN team is so incompetent. They need new or less management.

You know you can enter a second letter yes? I just entered O and L and OlliOlli is the very first result...

after selecting O simply press right and you can enter another letter. It's really not that hard.

I grabbed Danganronpa when I saw the thread about the sale. I just got a Vita this month and this was one of the games I wanted to play the most. Perfect timing.

Surge is a blast, I've completely overlooked it back when it was free with plus. 15 challenges sound like they'll not last long, even though some are tough.

'Normal' mode is the real deal though

oooooooh. yes that is confusing.
