PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

There's 1GB of internal memory in the Slim. If you don't get a memory card with a bundle or play one of those mythical games that save on the cartridge, then no games on the OLED.

There is no system memory, no. You need a card to play. Also, yay for Danganronpa. You have excellent taste.

Ok, yeah, that's what I figured. I'll just have to be patient then, haha. The 64GB will pay off in the long run, though, I'm sure.

Only counting those two games was always wrong and that's when moving the goal posts started as what counts as a game and what doesn't. I'd never even heard of logic like that before Vita.
Yeah the playing down of Vita's library was really something else back then. People just wouldn't stop moving those goalposts. People really did decide they hated the system beforehand and had no intention of changing their minds. It never had a chance.

Stop making sense, Gravity Rush was the worst Vita game ever and it wasn't released until a whooping four months after the Vita launch!

Best Vita exclusive until today.

Look where Gravity Rush was in IGN's Top 25 Vita Games, September 2013

For those that ordered a 64GB from Super UFO, does the cheapest shipping come with a tracking code? They mention it doesn't, but Play-Asia says the game even though it does come with a tracking code. I'm afraid to choose the cheapest shipping and have the package disappear.

Planning to get a Vita tomorrow, any helpful links would be appreciated. Sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask.

I'm looking at the Tearaway bundle (1st gen Vita with OLED is still the way to go, right?), a memory card (haven't decided what size, yet), a PS+ subscription and some PSN credit. Anything I need to know about, anything I'm missing?

Sounds like a good deal :D. You are going to get two games for free (Tearaway and LBP Vita) that really use the system, the best verison of the Vita (dat OLED screen man :D) and PS+ with PSN Credit for more content (PS+ stuff will get you many, many games man :D).

My suggestion is that you start out with either a 16GB or 32GB Memory Card. Both are locally available, so now worrys about importing and the like (though if you can afford it, a 64GB card is a great deal....you will be surprise how fast the things fill up XD!).

My suggestions for games are Sword Art Online:Hallow Fragment (if you enjoyed the anime/light novel's), Persona 4 Golden (an amazing RPG), Persona 3 Portable (if you love P4G), Guacamelee (a very fun Metroidvanna) and Mega Man X4 (you are getting PSN Credit, right? If so, you might as well check out one of the best Mega Man X games out there when it launches Tuseday :D).

Other then that, welcome to Vita Gaf man :D! This is a great community that always has great suggestions for games (if someone here hypes up a game, there is always a good chance they are right about its quality :D).

Thanks, man! Happy to soon be a part of Vita-GAF. Did not expect such a warm welcome. :D Already subscribed to this and the PS+ thread. Really excited about owning a PS platform again, my first one since PS2 and PSP.

Speaking of Danganronpa, why is it hidden on EU PSN? Seriously go on the vita store and look under vita games. Danganronpa isn't there. You have to search for it.

Believe me, I'm the last person in the world who'd run down the Vita library. I've played all but a handful of the games that have come out for it in North America, and it's by far my most played system. I bought one at launch, and then I got the revision, too.

But look at the release list by date. While there were definitely a couple of notable games out, it was still a bit of a wasteland for weeks on end, since Sony hadn't realized they could fill up the library with indie games. Q2 2012 had a dozen games during that three-month period, and so did Q3. (By contrast, this past August has seen...what, 17 games come out for the system?) "Vita has no games" was always overstated, but I think there was a tiny bit of truth to it at first.

I bought it using the cheapest delivery option ($1.19) and I could track it, and checking now it doesn't let me uncheck the tracking option ($1.70 extra). So I guess it does!

Who knows, while checking the list I also noticed some other games were missing. And the demo section is just ancient stuff. Only search will save us in this mess.

Wow, thanks for the fast responses, haha.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards 64GB, even though that seems to be a JP only import on Amazon.de. So, while I wait for that to arrive, would I be able to play a game in the meantime and create a save on the system or is there no internal memory whatsoever? Either way, I think the investment (and the wait associated with that) would be justified, considering I usually go pretty wild with downloadable games.

Thanks for all the recommendations, as well. I'm planning to get most of what you guys mentioned down the line. I usually get one more game to go with my console/handheld bundles, that's probably going to be Danganronpa in this case. Seems like TxK will also be on sale via PS+ in September, so that's probably a lock as my first PSN purchase.

I go physical whenver I can, but thanks! :3

If you get a new vita slim you have internal memory for saves. And I really like my slim, just as I really liked the original OLED one.

If you think you'll have a lot of digital content then go straight for the 64GB - for not much more than the price of a 32Gb in Europe it's a no-brainer IMO. If you go for the original vita, just grab a really cheap 4Gb card used from somewhere to tide you over.

And personally I'd hold off on danganronpa as it isn't I sale like it is in the US. Wait and see if it is in sale in he next couple of months. Instead you could consider demons gaze which is on sale, or something else. What kinds of games do you like? There are lots of great games so don't rush to choose.

If you go for the bundle, you'll get tearaway and LBO which are great. Then killzone, unit 13, everybody's golf, gravity rush are all must haves IMO.

Edit: if you are getting the official tearaway bundle, that comes with a 16Gb card I think? So you'll be set.

No september thread?

It is like September in some places bro.

Thanks, man! Happy to soon be a part of Vita-GAF. Did not expect such a warm welcome. :D Already subscribed to this and the PS+ thread. Really excited about owning a PS platform again, my first one since PS2 and PSP.

Welcome to the Darkside bro. Make sure to get that Velocity 2X on Wednesday!

What's in the top 10?

I ain't giving them any ad revenue

01 - Persona 4 Golden
02 - Super Stardust Delta
03 - Uncharted: Golden Abyss
04 - LittleBigPlanet Vita
05 - Sound Shapes
06 - Guacamelee!
07 - Dokuro
08 - Hotline Miami
09 - Lumines: Electric Symphony
10 - Rayman Origins

As much as I liked the ideas and aesthetic of Dokuro, I'd put quite a few of the lower ranked games above it.

Thanks! As far as I can tell there is no memory card included in the Tearaway bundle, at least not in the one I'm eyeing. You know, I might pick up a 4GB one just because I'm impatient, haha. Transferring save files later should be easy, right?

Jimbo! Thanks, man! Can't wait to play Velocity!

Welcome to VitaGAF, daydreaming!

Welcome to VitaGAF, daydreaming!

Nice gets :D. Never played DoA before, but I loved Rayman Legends on my Vita :). Between the better frame rate it had over the Vita version of Origins (which very rarely dropped a few frames), dat D-Pad and OLED and the Invasion levels, the game was in my Vita for a long time :D. Never got the platinum though.....that challenge mode man X(.
