I personally wanted the designer of Left4Dead to make a single player game about a sad lesbian mom who crawls through tight spaces every 10 minutes, now enhanced with some awful JJ Abrams writing !!!

Yes, you are wrong. 40% of their first party game revenue comes from GaaS. They have several announced ones plus some released and active.

On top of this they also made a 3 ways deal with:

• Kadokawa and CyGames (in this deal CyGames in charge of mobile games)
• Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki (in this deal Akatsuki -leading mobile game dev in Japan- in charge of mobile games)

Sony also created Dark Outlaw Games a new studio with part of Deviation (who were working in a GaaS before shutting down the studio), so may also be working -or not- in a GaaS.

Sony also has a game in early stages with People Can Fly, which in the likely case of being multiplayer it would be fair that will be GaaS too.
