Very mediocre, specially considering that most people probably have already tackled RE2R, thanks to the PS Store promos.

Hardspace Shipbreaker was one of my favorite PC games in 2022. I first played it at PAX 2020 and was hooked since then. It's a real treat for anyone who enjoys stealing copper from walls and wonders what type of career they could make from it 200 years in the future.

When I saw RE2 I thought they were adding the original as a Classic. Got so excited for a few seconds lol...

Rofl Hardspace shipbreakers.

A fantastic little gem ruined by literally hiring a woke vampire to head the design, almost instantly the open style story was replaced with some union BS, and as someone who is a member of a Union and understands how they work, some made up fantasy union which is what someone who went through college thinking Communism is the only truth thinks a union is because they have never actually been in one before.

Said woke vampire is semi famous too

Its Jennifer Scheurle the woman who did all the things she constantly ranted men did on the Internet. Once she was hired the game immediately shifted direction to the unfortunate title released today. Before it was a sort of edgey "one wrong move and your dead" hard working mans sort of game. Suddenly its "oh no my student loans, evil captalism has trapped me" game. Sadly she was let go due to the above allegations long after the game had any hope of being salvaged.

To this day people in the forums ask for a storyless mode with progression so they can avoid this, its never getting added, lol.

Edit: I just want to point out the above article was written about the divided community the day after I posted this.

I'm now wondering if the people mentioned in the articles final paragraph are my post, lol.

it's like Sony hired a team of blindfolded monkeys to pick out games from a bargain bin. i am starting to think that the new price increase was just an elaborate scheme to pay for their therapy bills.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be awesome if they did a "Resident Evil: PSX Collection" for modern platforms.
Yeah, but it's been clear as heck since 2014 that they're using remakes to replace the original games. That's why RE1 DC on PS4 and PS5 is sub-only.

I thought Hardspace would be right up my alley, and I can see how so many people got utterly addicted to it, but it just didn't click for me.

Definitely give it a try if you're even slightly interested, it might be a gem for you.

Damn, probably the weakest month of Extra since I subscribed.
First time I'm not even remotely interested in any of the games (RE2R Is great but played that years ago).

That said the essential tier this month was one of the best ever, at least for me. So I guess it evens out.

Crap month again. I really wish SONY would get some PSVR2 games on the service

They're going to need a large enough back catalog of games before they really start to lean into monthly PSVR2 games. They'll also want to wait for these games to have been on the platform for a requisite amount of time.

My guess is we won't see PSVR2 games on PS+ until PSVR2 drops in price and more people have had an opportunity to buy these games at relatively full price.

People are counting PSVR2 out already, but it hasn't gotten a really needed price cut, and some big name titles like Ace Combat are still yet to come out and that's just a matter of time.

PSVR2 could probably in my mind live off of Ace Combat 8, Gran Turismo 7, and Resident Evil 4. That trio is really proof positive of what PSVR2 can deliver.

I'm sure we'll see some things like a Resistance Trilogy remaster featuring VR Mode. Makes too much sense given the PS5's need for FPS and Insomniac's experience with VR.

It is time t to add some games IMO and I don't get why SONY isn't looking to get the likes of Rush Of Blood and Astrobot on PS5VR.

Astrobot should have been there from day 1. I think maybe I heard there was difficulties with the port or maybe I'm misremembering that.

Shadow Tactics is cool. Didn't beat it but a good Commandos clone for sure if you like this kind of stuff

Not a great month for me. I'm a little confused about the classics lineup. The video mentioned Alone in the Dark: New Nightmare (PS1) but not seeing it on the blog post?

It's very niche but if you're into that niche, it's essentially a 10/10 title. I beat it four times total, it's an incredible game.
Anyone that thinks they like stealth games, from Metal Gear to Splinter Cell owes it to themselves to give this a real shot. It will feel like something new, but it's basically the best stealth out there.

I love how you'll encounter a level at first and think wow, that's fucking impossible. Then you kind of take it apart one small encounter at a time and by the end you're setting up elaborate ambushes and all. It's so fucking cool and the game constantly pushes your limits with encounter design. I beat it on Hard several times and some of the scenarios legit feel impossible at first.

I hear Tiny Tina is enjoyable.

It's okay for a single playthrough if you like the Borderlands 3 gunplay, but that's about it. Loot isn't as deep or interesting, "end game" is complete trash that you'll get tired of after five minutes, and the humor of it was completely neutered in service of getting the teen rating and to not offend the "I support current thing" folks. For example, Torgue is a shell of himself when he could have been one of the funniest characters in the game. It also commits the cardinal sin of: Oh you want to power through the main missions? Too bad, you're too underleveled unless you go do all this side quest busywork!

In many ways, Wonderlands is the kind of game Borderlands 1 and 2 would have lampooned.

Edit: If anyone wants the Blightcaller class, just buy that single DLC by itself for $5. The rest of the DLCs aren't worth your time or money.

RE2 came out 5 years ago so if you had any interest at all you already own it.

Only thing I remember about Tiny Tina is she was one of the most annoying characters I've ever come across so no way in hell I'm playing a game dedicated to her lmao.

Not seeing much of a reason to renew when my sub expires in a few months.

Putting remasters behind the premium paywall is bullshit. I’m about to let my sub run out. With the price increase, decrease in quality, and lack of playing much multiplayer at all these days, I might even let essential run out too.

Classics line up plus RE2, is pretty good for me. Already played it though. Maybe i'll try Wonderland. Curious about Session too but i know it is not as arcade as THPS.
