Whelp, they finally spoiled the Europeans so much that even they're poopooing getting Crysis 2, Rachet & Clank: A4O and Cubixx HD in one month.

Oh no, I love me some Crysis 2 and though I never played Cubixx HD it could be lots of fun. It's Ratchet that I'm having problems with. For better or worse Ross used to employ metacritic 80 or higher in the games he'd pick for the ICG and you can disagree with game rankings all you want but it meant that each game we got some actually good (though you might not have enjoyed its genre). Ratchet sits at 70% with a user score of 6.4. I've also played the beta and it wasn't anything to write home about.
You're right, only quest for booty is on psn which was already given away for the welcome back package so I guess there was no other ratchet game. But as I've said even J&D would be awesome.
I don't think anyone was "poopooing" it - just saying that it isn't the best month we've ever had
The three HD remasters, QfB and A4One are on PSN. Tools of Destruction and Crack in Time are not.
Since I brought it up, let me just say that Crack in Time is one of the best PS3 games and a must-play if you own the system.
Ugh, I'm going to resubscribe to the US PS+ on the 30th to reach the $100 quota, but compared to the EU ps+, the US is very lackluster. I mean, I could probably get all the titles the US had and more just by having the EU+.

PS+ is the first time we Europeans don't get the short end of the stick so I like to think they're trying to make up for years of negligence and delay after delay. In reality it's of course pure luck that I prefer 'our' PS+. Also we pay more if you convert the price.

Probably because of the different markets and many retailers making it harder for the publisher to track how well an old game is selling. So to get the hype rolling for a sequel(RE6, Borderlands2) they give away the prequel for free.
May also have to do with the fact that PS3 is the biggest HD console in Europe, while in the US Xbox is dominant and takes the larger share of third party sales. That way it may not help the sales of the sequel to give away the prequel for free on PS3 when the larger part of the userbase is on Xbox.
Could be to do with the subscriber numbers. Obviously we don't have any figures, but I'd hazard a guess that if there's more money coming into the service in Europe, then more money can be spent to get games on the service in that region. And since it's done on a region-by-region basis, then much of what SCEE takes from subscriptions will no doubt be invested back into the service to get better content.
Of course, they could also be loss leading on this in the hope that subscriber numbers pick up if the pot is sweet.
There's also the promotional aspect too. A decently-sized chunk of our PS+ games have had sequels out imminently, so it's a good way to market a product and skim a bit of cash from it too. I'm sure that's very attractive to developers looking to monetise their back catalogue and get some promotion at the same time.
That said, it doesn't always work out. I'm not particularly enamoured at getting Crysis 2, Cubixx HD and R&C: All 4 One.
Depends a little on what you liked most in Machinarium. If it were the adventure Puzzles then I could recommend the Monkey Island Special editions and Tales of Monkey Island. If it was the overall style and how the whole game worked without dialogues, then I guess would Botanicula (from the same guys who did Machinarium) the right thing for you. It's only available for PC though.
i enjoyed all 4 one co op with my wife well enough, is it a well made title that warranted a full price release when it came out physically, no not at all, but if you treat it as a $10-$15 psn title it's fairly decent for that price and fun can be had

All 4 One? Awesome. It's the only US PS+ game that I actually wanted. No clue why people are moaning about it.

It would be the longest and biggest PSN-game ever.
Seriously, the game has 9 very long levels and is easily 10 hours long. It's 16GB in Europe; 13GB in the US.

i blame 4kids, if they didn't screw up the original localization so badly one piece maybe could have been the next DBZ :/
personally I find this to be one of the better discount updates in a long long long long time. The one piece discount is huge for me as not only is it a decent discount it's only a month after it's original release. beyond that though plus tends to have a big week and then a smaller week, this time we had two smaller weeks in a row, doesn't change the fact that we will be getting at least 3 free games in nonmember.

I would guess something will be released next week as well as it will be the first update of the month, and the way it was worded makes me think it will be a digital version of a retail game
I don't see much reason why they would push the games to the end of the month, especially since vita plus is supposed to be a separate thing that isn't supposed to make the ps3 plus get any less games, thus why release both of those plus updates at once

I know, I was asking if the thing(s) announced next week would be released that same week, because don't they usually announce a week early? Or is this really awful announcement all that is being updated week 1?
Why? plus tends to do a big week, small week and alternate for the 4 weeks in the month, but given this month had 5 weeks for updates it ended up having 2 small updates at the end of the month.
this announcement is for the store update tomorrow, same way they have been doing these weekly announcement for NA plus for a while now. The stuff announced next week will be for the release next week.
