Today would be a good time to announce the relationship, if any, between Plus and Vita considering today is the big Vita update...
So did FC2 not go up on the EU store yesterday? Can't see it.
nope.. will be online together with the usual wednesday store update later today..
it is to expensive for the psn team to update ... that is why they always update everything in one go.. there are exceptions, but that are only for the big guns (call of duty, GTA etc...)
at least that is what I imagine..

I keep getting a message "some save files cannot be stored as there is no space" yet I have over 100MB in cloud storage. The fuck is this shit? I wish they told me which file cant be uploaded instead of me guessing myself. Never seen an issue where cloud storage doesn't work but yet I still get that message during startup. Wazzap with dat?!
So, I thought I'd revisit Dragon Age last week. It asked me if I wanted to enable automatic cloud saving and I said yes.
Bad move: I had like 60 saves, totalling over 100 MB, which was more than I could store in the cloud. So the next time I start up my PS3 it says something about how it couldn't upload all saves, but still a bunch was uploaded (filling up the 65 MB I had left in the cloud).
My thought: bad idea for this game. So I go to the game, press triangle and disable automatic cloud saving again. Also I manually delete all the saves already in the cloud.
Didn't play the game, but two days later my PS3 decides to upload all DA:O saves it couldn't upload earlier, again filling up my cloud space. I was a bit annoyed of course, but thought that maybe I had to start the game up before the changes took effect. So: deleted the saves in the cloud again, double checked the option was disabled, also deleted a bunch of saves on my hard drive because the game took forever to boot up, started the game, played for a bit, created one new save game, quit the game and turned off my PS3.
Surprise, surprise: next time I start my PS3 it uploaded the save games again (only two this time fortunately, my new save and the auto save). ARGH!
Tldr: how do I disable automatic cloud saving when the option in the XMB doesn't work?

I think it has more to do with habit. The PSN update is Wednesday so I know when to visit the PSN. It is the first thing I do when I get home that day.
For anyone on the fence, now is definitely the time to renew. This month's offerings are nuts.

Will my game save for the disc-based version of Far Cry 2 work with the downloadable version?
I'm surprised more people aren't posting about the other games that are on sale for Free right now ... Fatal Intertia, Battle Fantasia, bunch of PSN games...adding in the other games I've gotten recently and haven't even touched, why would I buy any PSN games? That's the only problem with this model...it is sucking out motivation I have to buy more (but I will buy Journey the day it comes out)
I went in for Farcry 2 last night and came out with a whole mess of games like these I didn't know were there.
I want to know as well. I was halfway through a couple of years back, but I will likely start from scratch.
I wanted to get Fatal Inertia at one point, then forgot about it. Nice.
Just fired up the DD version and it's giving me the option to continue so looks like it's the same save.
Nice! What to do, continue or start over... I dont even remember the controls or what I was doing.

Too bad none of those are available for the European PS+ subscribers, and the same goes for many past offerings and Qore as well. Not to mention, that the EU PSN Store is nowadays updated a day later than the US one, which really pisses me off when there's a long-waited PSN only game released. I've started to strongly dislike how Sony sometimes treats the Europeans as second class citizens, eventhough we pretty much saved their ass during this generation.
If I leave a game for anything more than a few weeks I have to start over, I can't remember a thing. I don't think I was that far along in FC2 though, so starting over won't be too much of a bind.
Yep. Unless its a "must have" type I now wait for games to be on a quality sale before I buy them, or just wait for the free content.
I think Sony would do themselves and their partners a great service in this regard if they'd start offering week one sales for Plus members on all new releases, as opposed to the sporadic mishmash that it is right now.
Honestly, the network as a whole seems vastly underutilized for promoting the content it offers.
But this update did just convince me to renew my sub in July when its up again.

Been thinking about getting PS plus for like 3 months. Is it worth it? Are the "free" games good enough to justify the purchase?

There are enough free, half decent to good, games throughout the year, that I feel justify my purchase. As for firmware, you can set your PS3 to check for updates every night, and it will download all firmware and all recently played game updates while you sleep.
Though with the firmware, I find that after there has been an update I still have to go and manually check for the update but it takes like 1 minute or less to download. I think its because I still have to manually accept the terms.
I payed 480kr for 15 months. I've gotten content worth much more. Add discounts on games that I was going to buy even if it did not have any discount, I can say that I am happy with this service. I see it as a renting service and I get to keep some stuff (I think).

I am finally upgrading my hard drive so I actually bit on this for a year.
The Simpson's Arcade game is not a high quality game. Battle Fantasia seems neat.

I am still really suprised Sony has not done any specials yet for PSP Vita on PS+. I figured it would be a no brainer. They want to push PS+ and the Vita they should of done something. It could of gotten PS+ on the fence to get a PSP Vita or get Vita owners to get PSN+.
Official launch is this week, so I wouldn't have expected it before now. Hopefully they'll do something this week rather than wait for the next monthly update.

No, I got most of those titles during that free month and my time lapsed. I just got a year card and I can redownload & play the titles I grabbed (which include many listed in that post). It is most likely a technical issue or something.
just tested stacking, golden axe and more... all had expired dates, but once I played them the date changed, and all games worked fine.. EU day one subscriber..
I have some issues with how sony handles demos/trophies/etc from time to time but is the complaint in that thread that a once free offering is no longer available?
Cause that is not a big deal, it would be nice if things were kept free all the time but a lot of time there is the "for a limited time" term thrown around, its why i will jump online every tuesday night and download what's free and sift through it later. You see it in their store update posts, "free for two weeks for plus members" "discounted for one week for plus members" etc..
My gripe is the nonsense about not keeping trophies if you discontinue plus, i also think demo's should allow you to earn trophies, trophy whores may want to buy that one hour trial game if they can continue to earn trophies on demos/trials.

I posted this in this thread months ago - I had the exact same problem described in that post. I had subscribed for PSN+ in Feb of 2011 and my subscription has not lapsed once (have more than a year on it) but after the PSN Outage the titles I had downloaded for free before were no longer in my downloads list, expired on my hdd, and it would not let me redownload them without paying. These were the titles with the expiration tied to my original 3 month sub, before I added more time on to it. I called Sony, confirmed with them my sub had not lapsed, even through the outage, and asked that they reactivate my permissions for those games. They gave me a sort of "ehhh..." answer and I simply left it at that. This was around July of 2011.
Fast forward to now, Feb of 2012. My hdd got corrupted last week so I formatted and logged on to the store to redownload some stuff. I opened up my download list, and what did I see? The very games I had an issue with were back in my downloads list. Games like Sonic, Stacking, the first Magic game, could now all be downloaded again, 7 months later.
My best advice, make sure to boot up or even redownload the free games you really want to keep so the expiration is always properly updated. I'm guessing this is just one big random glitch that affects some and doesn't affect some. But, I can confirm it's for realzies.

So PS Blog says that Far Cry 2 is available for a week only (starting Feb 14). Does that mean that it will still be available on the 21st or does the offer expire on the 20th?
It'll expire once the store updates.

had it for like a week now, after holding out for so long, and its been great. I don't know why I didn't get it sooner since I get stuff from the PSN store often.
The Far Cry 2 deal did me in...even though I found out later they sale the game for like $10..lol. But still I don't think I'm using this service to its full potential....but I'm looking forward to seeing what they will do with Vita.

It's not true. The only trophies that aren't permanent are the ones earned in 1-hour trials and those become permanent if you buy the game after the trial has expired.

After upgrading to a 500GB hard drive I love PS+ so much more now.
I just indiscriminantly download all the free stuff!
